This is an excellent old-fashioned stuffing recipe. If possible, stuff the turkey and bake any leftover in a casserole dish. When done, mix the two together. The only change I made was to add fresh parsley.

I've used this recipe many times over the years for our festive turkey dinners. It's so easy my husband is even able to make it successfully! Everyone raves about it. I always add a little extra poultry seasoning and salt. So yummy and moist! It even keeps well if you choose to make it the evening before your big dinner - bake in the over the day of.

How can something so simple and with just a few ingredients taste so good?! I cut my bread into cubes and dried it on cookie sheets over several days turning them several times to ensure all sides were completely dried, as recommened by another reviewer. I omitted the salt and used Campbells double strength chicken broth. Adding the broth a bit at a time until just moist is crucial. It may look and feel like the stuffing will turn out too dry, but I assure you, somehow it works. I doubled the batch to serve some in the bird and some in a roasting pan, then tasted it to make sure it had the right amount of seasonings and adjusted it to my family's taste. It was delicious. The stuffing cooked in the roasting pan even tasted great cold the next day!

very good basic recipe for stuffing. The only reason for 4 and not 5 stars is that i feel like it could be seasoned a little more, but other than that, a good recipe

excellent recipe, very simple. we brine our turkey so i decided to this out of the bird. due to lack of oven space i ended up putting it in a crock pot. i made it the night before and it looked like it dried out, so when it started to warm in the crock pot, i added more chicken broth and some drippings from my turkey. it was a total hit. i saw guests with seconds of just stuffing! go figure!

Now that I know how simple and how delicious this is, I will never go back to the box stuff. I served this for Thanksgiving to a group of people who had never tried stuffing - and there were NO leftovers!

Whipped 2 eggs in cool broth. Added 2 diced chicken breasts boiled in broth. I made a slightly larger batch and used 49oz can of broth. Used french bread... more firm and better texture. Everyone loved it. Poultry seasoning makes the dish.

AMAZING I was searching for a recipe like the one I had used in previous years and lost. I added half a lb. of bacon and used both sage and poultry seasoning. I also used more chicken broth. It was great!

This recipe was terrific! I made two batches: one to stuff the turkey, and another batch on the side (I like a LOT of stuffing!!). I do recommend air drying the bread for a few days instead of a few hours to ensure the bread is nice and dry, so you get some crunchy texture to the stuffing. Also, for my two batches, I used one loaf of white bread, one loaf of french bread... (the french bread adds an additional crunchy texture) Since I made two batches, I mixed 1/2 white bread to 1/2 french bread in each batch. This way I got the best of both worlds. I combined my 2 batches on one platter and it was perfect! Definitely a hit!

I made this stuffing last year after doing an internet seach for "easy stuffing". I needed to make an inexpensive stuffing to serve 200 people at a church Thanksgiving dinner. This stuffing was the 1st thing we ran out of and everyone commented on how good the stuffing was. I used the recipe again this year and made enough for 300 people (took me about 5 hours to chop and mix everything!). Again, I got such great comments on this recipe that I thought I better give a review - it's great in large quantities and inexpensive, too.

i don't really like stuffing, but i made it for thankgiving for my family, and i actually really, really liked this one. i chopped the onions and the celery really fine, and my sister didn't even notice they were there (she's a picky eater). because i baked it in a glass baking dish, if i make it again, i'll probably add a little more chicken broth because it was a little dry (maybe because it wasn't stuffed in a turkey). but other than that, i thought it was awesome!
