This recipe was really, really good and very versitile! I used bread straight from the sandwich loaf you buy for sandwiches. I had a can of Comstock apples that I chopped and added in, and the juice left in the can I added to the margarine (it wasn't much). Then I was thinking that it might come out too moist, so I thought some oatmeal might be good, all I had were the packets of instant Maple & Brown sugar, so I added two of them, and it came out really really good! Not too moist. I might add a little more sugar next time as the apples didn't have any and it needed extra. Otherwise, really yummy! I too used the the vanilla sauce from Grammas Bread Pudding, it made the sugar mixture that was missing just right, otherwise, too sweet. Will use this one over and over again!
