Ingredients

  • 8 slices bread
  • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine, divided
  • 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon rubbed sage
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Directions

  1. Toast bread and spread with 2 tablespoons of butter; cut into 3/4-in. cubes. Place in a 1-qt. microwave-safe dish set aside. Place remaining butter in a microwave-safe bowl; cover and microwave on high for 50-60 seconds. stir in broth, onion and seasonings. Pour over the bread cubes and toss to coat. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 6 minutes, stirring once.
