I really love these. I had never used the dough function on my bread machine bcuz I was gone when it was recieved and person who unpakd it disposed of instructions. I made these because I needed sandwich buns. I divided into 8 parts, baked 15 min, then returned for another 5 for total 20-done at 15 but I wanted them a little firmer and browner for my purpose. Nice soft crust on outside and soft and airey inside. *see note below. Delicious. I used almost 1 c milk, and rest (to mke 1 1/4) was water. As sandwich buns they are tasty and I will use them again, but they are very soft so if you are making heavy duty sandwichs, better use something else. Light for hamburgers, but if u aren't adding a ton of extra "dressings", they will be fine. *NOTE: MY MACHINE RISES TWICE ON DOUGH FUNCTION-since it beeped before the second kned and rise, maybe I was supposed to take it out then. I left it in there almost halfway through the second rise-since i don't have the handbook and recipe duznt say, I didn't know if I was supposed to take it out or not. Then I took dough out, broke into 8 pieces (buns) carefully shaped and put on large baking sheet to raise again for about an hour before baking. I don't know if this was right or wrong, or affected the outcome, but they were really good. Next time, when I make them for rolls, I will probably do the same again. Apparently, you can't mess these up.-- if anyone knows what the "right thing to do" was, let me know. Also, I proofed the yeast.
