Yum!! I used the egg white and boy, was it worth it! The tops of the rolls were a beautiful, golden brown. I had honey butter to dip them in.:-) I froze some of them like others have suggested. I microwaved them for 45 seconds on full power, then let them rise under a damp cloth for about 20 mins. Ideally, you want to let them rise longer, I just ran out of time. I didn't use the egg white, only butter brushed over the tops this time, and they weren't quite as good. But these are WELL worth the effort!!:-)

This is the best roll recipe I have ever tried. I made if for my in laws and now they want me to make them for all of our family functions. My sister has requested that I make them as a part of her birthday dinner and my husband absolutely loves them. I baked them in a muffin tin and they came out perfect. They are so good that I am making another batch tonight.

I first used this recipe about 5 years ago. It is a great recipe. The rolls are VERY light and tender. I sprinkle 1/2 of them with sesame seeds and the other 1/2 with poppy seeds.

These are easy to make and taste wonderful...Thanks for the recipe. I did add 1-tsp Italian Seasoning and I also eliminated the salt and added 1-tbsp grated Parmesan Cheese. I also allowed them to rise twice as long as noted in the recipe. The result was lighter, softer rolls.

Yum!!! I kept all measurements exactly as written, and made 18 smaller rolls. They were delicious and my dinner guests were blown away. Seems like such a simple recipe but the end result was out of this world! I did spray the rolls with some Pam before placing the damp cloth over and had no problem with it sticking.

These rolls are soft, light and tasty! I use the measurements for sugar and salt per the recipe. The only thing I change is skipping the egg wash and brushing them with melted butter/parmesan mixture when they are done. I, too, have had times when the dough sticks to my cloth. I found that I don't have this problem if I make sure the water is at 110 degrees (using a thermometer), only slightly dampen the cloth by sprinkling a little cold water on it and make sure that they don't get too warm during the final rise. I usually put in a cold oven to rise and it works fine. These are now my "famous rolls" and I get many special requests to make them :)

Great recipe! You can't get it any easier than making dough in a bread oven. I'll be making these often.

Yum. I doubled this recipe and it lifted the lid of my breadmaker while it was rising, but everything turned out fine. Baked them in 9X13 pans (high sided) and kept the dough kind of close together so they had a nice shape with soft sides. Taste *just* like my grandmother's rolls, and I'm thousands of miles away from my family so I'll be making these often! (I didn't use the egg wash - just brushed them with a little melted butter after they came out of the oven)

It was soft and came out great. Also very easy to make. I did not give 5 stars because it was little too salty for my family! I think I will cut the salt in half... Pretty good though!

My family absolutely LOVES these tender dinner rolls. They fill the house with an amazing aroma while they bake, so don't cook them too far ahead of the meal, or you may find they "go missing". At holiday meals, when I want to create some dining room drama, I only bring one batch. Everyone fights to get the last one! The only adjustment I have is on timing. My breadmaker takes 1 1/2hrs for dough, so my total time to make these is more like, 2hrs, 20min.

This is an awesome recipe. This is my second time making rolls. The first time I used a recipe from someone else. This one is is better by far. I did use less sugar and more salt because some reviews mentioned them being a little too sweet and not salty enough. Personally, I did not think they were sweet at all so I will probably use the exact amount of sugar next time and still use a little more salt. I did not have powered milk so I used a cup of 1% and I still think they came out well. I will probably try th powerdered milk next time to see which is better. Thanks for this recipe.
