I was good. Make sure that you strain it really, really well.

Thanks for the recipe! I made a "virgin" version for the kids and added rum for the adults.

Great taste. Loved the zesty lime flavor from blending the peels. I made several batches. My favorite alterations so far include substituting agave nectar for sugar, using 5 Tbs. sweetened condensed milk instead of 3 and reducing the water to 1 cup. Gives it a more intense key lime pie flavor.

I made the mistake of following a reviewer's advice not to peel the limes, and followed the recipe exactly. At first it was way too sour, so I added another cup of water and a few tablespoons sugar. It was just alright. But if you don't drink ALL of it at once, it sits and becomes more bitter by the minute--no more than an hour after I'd made this, the entire batch was simply ruined by awful bitterness. Maybe it was just my particular limes, but I won't ever attempt to make this again.

This was very, very good! The first batch I tossed due to my error - my blender is on its last leg so I blended for a couple minutes, figuring I'd need to in order to puree everything. Big mistake! The pith gets pulverized and gives the drink an unpleasant bitter aftertaste that no amount of sugar or sweetened condensed milk can cover up. For the second batch I actually followed directions and got the delicious refreshing drink everyone raves about. I just used my regular mesh strainer, pressing down on the pulp with a spoon to squeeze out the drink. I also used fat free sweetened condensed milk, which minimized the guilt factor for me! Thanks for sharing!

I've never had this in Brazilian Restaurants (never been to one even), like some other reviewers have, so this was new to me. It's very simple to make, and amazingly good. I made several batches and drank them all. One thing: "5 pulses" of my blender didn't really chew up the limes very much, and I didn't know if I should have done it some more. Still, it was great as is. This was also a good reason for me to finally buy some "fine mesh strainers" for use in this and some other recipes I've seen.

This recipe is delicious! The only thing that I have to say is that you shouldn't strain the limes too much and don't worry about using too much ice. I made this twice, the first time I used a lot of ice and it tasted almost like a sherbet drink. The second time I didn't use too much ice and I pushed most of the juice through the strainer and it had too much of a lime flavor (I don't recommend it). From what I could tell the only differences were the ice and the fact that I tried to get as much juice as I could...

If I could give this more than five stars, I totally would. I needed to use up a can of condensed milk and this was the perfect way. I scaled this recipe down to two servings, just for my husband and I. He didn't care for it which meant I got both drinks. Score. It's like drinking a key lime pie, but better. So darn good it'll make you smack your momma!

It wasn't as good as I was hoping it would be. No one really cared for it even after I had an actual Brazilian native help me out with it. Also, it does go bad very quickly. I will try to make it one more time though -- maybe I'll like it better the 2nd time around.

A wonderful change to your traditional limeade. I will be making this instead! It's quick, easy and refreshing. While it is best to serve soon after making, with the remainder I threw in a pitcher and stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 days and while not equally as delicious it was still quite good.

Delicious and refreshing. I cut the sugar down to 1/3 cup, and it was still very sweet. I used a cheese cloth to strain, and had no problem at all. Thanks, Jumala!
