Is an awesume dish that everyone loved. I have 3 children and they loved it. It was a bit spicy but when they added butter and lime to it, it tamed it down for everyone. Have made this several times with different company and every time everyone loves it. Thank you for the wonderful recipe!

Better than anything you can buy anywhere. Made it a few week ago and got nothing but good comments on it, only bad thing was it only lasted 5 minutes and I only got one plate.

Perfect. Simple. I followed exactly. Next time I will add more seafood like scallops and less bratwurst simply from a fat intake perspective - not for taste because this was awesome.

i added 1 more beer and 4 more cups of water. doubled the shrimp to 2 lbs (because we already had it fresh off the boat). timed it just as called for and it turned out great. served it to 5 friends and everyone thought it was great

We loved this recipe and will be adding it to our normal rotation! :) We used 3 beers and a whole cup of seasoning (the recommended 3/4 Old Bay + garlic, cayenne, and red pepper flakes). I accidentally forgot the lemon! We also used kielbasa instead of brats, but wow! We'll probably include crab in the next round, but it really seems like one of those recipes that you just can't go wrong with no matter how you adjust for your own tastes!! Highly recommended!!

Will definitely make this again! Added a head of garlic,a couple of jalapenos, and a few sprigs of fresh thyme to the water and beer. It added even more flavor and spice. Thank you for a great boil recipe. Will add mussels or crab next time too.

Yummy and easy. Everyone in the house loved it, even the 3 year old, but we're all used to spicy foods. :o)

I was a little worried about trying this, but man I'm glad I did! My husband and I both loved it. The kids didn't care too much for it (they thought it was too spicy) so I'll try to tone it down a bit next time. It is kind of messy to eat, so be sure to have plenty of napkins on hand.

I messed around with the recipe a little by using Zatarain's Shrimp and Crab boil concentrate. It only requires about 1 tablespoon rather than 3/4 cup of seasoning. I also used deer brawts...with some Tony's Creole seasoning..WOW it was amazing!!

I made a variation of this tonight - absolutely terrific. Instead of brats, I used Boca "Italian Sausage" to keep it healthier and less meat-heavy. I cooked it in the microwave, added it with the shrimp at the end, and it came out perfect. Also went with 3 bottles of beer instead of 2 and reduced the water accordingly.

Fixed this last weekend for a family reunion so I ended up tripling the ingredients. I fixed it over my gas grill, so I briefly grilled the brats before adding them to the water. Instead of adding the lemon, I just added 1 tbls of juice so it didn't overwhelmed. We all loved it, though it is a bit messing. Lay down several layers of newspapers and have a large stack of napkins and paper towels. Great for outdoor feasts but I would caution serving this indoors.

Great comfort food that reminded me of home! I added an extra bottle of beer (used pale ale - all I had)... Never skimp on beer in a boil like this. :) Also, to save time, I broiled the brats in the oven. The only thing I would change is to not cook the lemons in the boil. I might add the juice from one SMALL lemon (or omit all together), but cooking the lemons in the pot saturated the onions with the lemon flavor. They tasted terrible - we couldn't eat them.. Onions are a MUST with the beer brats, so it was a disappointment to not be abel to eat them. In my opinion, save your lemons for on the table! Otherwise this was a great recipe!!
