This is a fantastic recipe and a huge hit at our house. Even our picky 13 year old will eat it, in spite of the onions! For the tomatoes, I've used both diced and crushed and it's wonderful either way. I also substitute half of the sausage with spicy sausage. If you're looking for fewer calories, this is also great with turkey italian sausage. The only other change I make is to use basil instead of parsley (dried works great since this is what I usually have).

I added Italian seasoning, a package of frozen, extra finely diced spinach, used ground Italian sausage rather than links, and topped with Parmesan. My son declared it "better than mac and cheese"! Success! It made enough for lunch the next day. Thanks for sharing!

This was a great change of pace from standard spaghetti night. I added parm cheese to the sauce as I mixed in the pasta, but you could always just sprinkle it on after in case not everyone likes it. It gave it more of a "vodka sauce" flavor.

It was AMAZING.!! The whole family loved it.! But some thought it was a little spicy. So you could leave out the pepper flakes.

Made this with loose sausage, diced tomatoes and cilantro (didn't have parsley). My guys loved it!

This was great! Very easy! I normally have all these things on hand so I can totally put this together on a weeknight. I used salmon italian sausage and it was wonderful!

A really versatile recipe. I used Turkey Italian sausage, half and half for a healthier version. I also added spinach and sun dried tomatoes very extra vegetables. Next time I will add mushrooms and yellow or orange bell pepper. I will put this on my monthly rotation. Thank you for a really quick easy and tasty recipe.
