Very good! I substituted grilled chicken for the sausage as preference. I didn't want to go to the store, so I also substituted evaporated milk (liquid kind) for the cream and diced, fresh tomatoes for canned (sauteed with onion and garlic, after onion caramelized). Added juice from 1/2 lemon because it tasted too creamy. It went very well with my homemade whole wheat pasta.

I really enjoyed this recipe. I tried to lighten this recipe up a bit since the fat and calories were pretty high and I am trying to cut back. I cut the recipe in 1/2 since there are only two of us and I wasn't sure if I would like the changes. I used turkey sweet Italian sausage, omitted the oil and substituted fat free evaporated milk instead of the heavy cream. I also can my own tomatoes so I used a pint jar and added 1/2 tsp of Italian seasoning. I blended the sauce with piccolini pasta (mini bow ties). With all the changes I made, this recipe was still delicious. Even good with a dash of parmesan on top. The heavy cream would have resulted in a creamier looking sauce, but this works if you want a lighter version. I was looking for a quick easy delicious meal and this fit the bill perfectly. It was on the table in 30 minutes as the recipe states. Thanks for a recipe that adapts well to change. If the lightened version was this good I can only imagine how delicious the regular version is! Thanks for a definite keeper.

This was easy and delicious! Made it with penne instead of bowties and was still very good.

Beyond awesome! I followed the recipe as close as I could, only using half-n-half thickened up with a bit of cornstarch, adding 8 oz. fresh mushrooms and sprinkling a little romano cheese over each serving. This needed just a little more half-n-half as I did add mushrooms, but WOO-EE, is this heaven! This is high class Hamburger Helper! This one is a keeper. No leftovers.

This was delicious! I made it healthier by using fat free half & half and using whole grain pasta. I also used turkey sausage and added some fresh baby spinach while the onion and garlic was sauteing. I also ended up using crushed tomatoes because my husband wont eat chunks of tomatoes. All in all this was a great recipe that will be in my regular recipe routine. Thanks Linda!

Using Italian sausage is fairly new to us but with recipes like this, I have a feeling I'll be cooking with it a great deal more. We really enjoyed this. Thanks for the recipe.

This is very good. I was feeling lazy so I just sliced my sausage instead of taking them out of the casing. Also my hubby is not a fan of parsley so I left that out. Next time I will use fresh tomatoes. Thanks for the recipe I will be making this again.

Very yummy! I loved the flavour of the sauce. I made as directed except for replacing the heavy cream with half and half and using whole wheat pasta. I will definitely be making again.

One of my families favorite dishes!! The only thing that I do different is that I use whole wheat pasta to try to make it a tad bit healthier...any little bit helps, right??

This is a really scrumptious recipe! Also a good base recipe. I am not a fan of ground sausage of any type usually so I cut a link of kielbasa into quarter size medallions and browned them according to recipe adding extra garlic, onion, and chopped peppers (red, green, yellow, orange) I use peppers all the time so I only took as much as I wanted from each pepper and saved the rest for later. I add a few seasonings and then some extra cream and a bit of broth. Very good!

Wow, I was so amazed by how well this came out. It was just delicious. It was so easy to cook that I wasn't expecting so much gorgeous flavor but it really tasted great. I only made a couple of changes: 1) I used sliced Trader Joe's sweet chicken sausage and it worked just fine; 2) I threw in a couple of fistfuls of fresh spinach and a yellow bell pepper to add color and health to the recipe. The other big thing that happened which really helped was, right as I was done cooking the sauce, my boyfriend called and said he would be home late from work. Thus, I let the sauce sit for a half hour before he got home. During that time, the sauce thickened and reduced a bit. I think this actually really helped with the consistency issue that other reviewers have mentioned. Plus, it is really important to mix the cooked pasta in with the sauce. The pasta will also absorb sauce. When my boyfriend got home, I just turned on the burner for a couple of minutes to heat it up and it was just delicious. My boyfriend usually doesn't provide much by the way of feedback but in this instance, he went out of his way to say how much he loved it. So great - thank you for the recipe!

I made this dish and it is now one of my husband's favs. For a little tip, wait 5-8 mintues to serve. The sauce is a little thicker and the dish comes together a bit better.

I all I can say is this was amazing and I used 1/2 and 1/2 (only a cup ~ which I will cut down to 3/4s of a cup next time because it's even so good without it). I used spicy chicken sausage and whole wheat egg noodles. DH said it is the *best pasta ever* and I healthy'd it up! This is a winner and will be a regular at our house. I did add some mushrooms that I had in the fridge. YUUUUUMMMMMYYYYY. Thanks.

My husband actually said this was the best thing I've ever made for him! I cook a LOT and I'm a pretty good cook! So I think that says a lot about this recipe! The only change I made was to use italian seasoned diced tomatoes, I think it just makes sense rather than buying them whole and chopping them And adding the pasta back into the sauce is a MUST! The pasta absorbs some of the extra liquid and it makes it so thick and creamy!! Now, if I can just find a way to make it a little more healthy!

I enjoyed it the night I made it, but really liked it better for leftovers the next day. The flavors had a chance to blend and develop, more, I think.
