Very good. Like others, I doubled the broth and added some olives. Easy to make, and that's always a plus.

This is a really tasty, and easy to make dish. I tried it at home and loved it so much I made it for a friend for a birthday treat! He loved it so much he got the recipe from me. He's a basic level cook, and had no problem following this recipe.

This was ok. We cooked crumbled sausage then set it aside in a bowl & cooked the peppers (I used a mixture of red, orange & just a little bit of green) in the sausage fat, when it got a little dry I added a tad of broth to keep the peppers from not burning. When the peppers were done, we added the sausage, broth & a sprinkle of black pepper. I put some freshly grated Parmesean on the table for topping. I think next time I will let the broth soak in the pasta more & maybe then it will have more flavor. It was good but nothing spectacular.

This was excellent! I added a can of diced tomatoes and some grated parmesan cheese. It was quick, light and tasty!

Boy, I nearly screwed this up big time but I managed to salvage it & it turned out being five star. I used 1 & 1/2 lbs of mild italian sausage (sliced 1" on a slight diagonal), one red pepper & one yellow (wish I had used one more) & while I was sauteeing those, I sprinkled some salt & pepper on it. Then I decided I wanted to use some creole seasoning...not realizing the creole seasoning was predominantly salt. At this point, it was really salty so when I drained it, I also rinsed it which was successful in removing the excess salt. I used about a cup & a half of low sodium broth, allowing it to reduce slightly & then I added a little cornstarch mixed in cold water. (about a tsp. of cornstarch in a tbp. or so of water) I added the bowties to the sausage & then copied WordChaser & added just a tbp. of butter. I topped it all w/ a sprinkling of romano cheese & fresh chopped basil. This dish had wonderful flavor! In fact, it was soo good that hubby asked me not to eat the leftovers for lunch but to save them for us to have for dinner again tonight.

I made this tonight for dinner as the recipe stated (except different pasta, and 1 green pepper and 1 red pepper, because of what I had on hand). As is, I think this is an average weeknight dinner. I wish I read the reviews before I started, but I was rushing to throw dinner on the table before I ran out for work... it definitely needs the broth doubled.... Also, next time I may crumble the sausage for a quicker cook, and add red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese. Thank you for sharing, I will definitely keep this in my recipe box and try again, when I have enough time to do some tweaking.

I LOVE this recipe! The flavor of the sauce is delicious. Spicy sausage with the sweet peppers is a nice flavor contrast. Alternatively, we use one green one red bell, yellow onion, rotini noodles, and spicy red sauce. Another of Hubby's faves.

Quick, easy meal that tastes great. I added zucchini and mushrooms to it and served it with a salad and my husband raved about it.

We thought this recipe was good...not spectacular. I followed the original recipe b/c I wanted to rate the recipe and not my version of it. After my hubby taste-tested it, I had to go back and add more broth. I will make again tweaking it to our tastes.

YUMMY! I just tweaked it a little. All I had was onions, no peppers so I sauted the onions and smoked sausage with about 3 cloves of chopped garlic and a little hot sauce, excellent! With the help of other reviews I used a whole can of beef broth. I let it all simmer for awhile and served with bread. My husband loved it and he is very picky!! Thanks

The core recipe was excellent. My only addition, I recall, was sliced black olives which, I feel, enhanced the flavor.

Used red, orange and yellow peppers instead of green and smoked sausage instead of Italian. Also, used 1 cup of beef broth for more sauce. Definitely a keeper. Both wife and I loved it.

The 1/2 cup of beef brother was most definintley not enough sauce. It was pretty dry. I ended up adding some marinara sauce & butter. Next time, I will probably use a different sauce. My picky husband didn't enjoy it. lol

Thank you Kristin for such an easy, wonderful, quick dinner the whole family loved! I used the bulk Bob Evans Italian sausage, (cooks up like ground beef), Birds Eye stir fry peppers with onions, and Au Jus for the sauce (I used a bit more sauce than called for too). Oh my! My husband couldn't get enough, and this will be going into our regular rotation! All three boys ate it up as well! Served it up with store bought buttered French bread for a meal in about a half hour. You cannot go wrong with this one!
