Bourbon Whiskey BBQ Sauce Recipe Reviews - Allrecipes.com (Pg. 6)

I made this as written with the possible exception of a little extra garlic. Used this to make Chicken and then a slab of baby back ribs Both on the standard Weber. The picky partner is also a big BBQ ribs fan. She said they were the best she ever had. I didn't strain the sauce and think the onions and garlic add some more flavor. Put the sauce on the last 45 minutes over in direct heat and it was great.

This is truly the best BBQ sauce you will ever put in your mouth!! I almost always tweak a recipe to suit our family, but in this case, I went with my instincts and didn't change a single thing (except that I did NOT strain out the onions, instead I used my cheese grater to shred the onion instead of cutting it and I pretty much ended up with onion pulp that needed no straining). Please, please try this recipe just as it's written and see if it isn't the very best bbq sauce you've ever had! (I use this sauce for marinades but it is also the only sauce I will ever use for pulled pork sandwiches - YUM!!!)

I literally just made this recipe, and I must say.....IT'S FREAKIN AMAZING!!!! I can smell it now while it's in my slow cooker. I did the recipe exactly as called for, but I doubled it. THe onlt thing I left out was the hot pepper sauce, cuz I know the old folks in my fam don't like things too hot. Definitely my go to sauce now.

This is so good! I did a couple things different: for the whiskey I used Jack Daniels honey flavored whiskey. I didn't have the vinegar so I used 1/4 cup of Italian dressing. Didn't use the chili sauce, don't even know what that is honestly. Did almost a full cup of Brown sugar and 1.5 teaspoons cayanne pepper for spice. And I think next time I make it I will do only half the liquid smoke, it was a bit strong. Still the best BBQ sauce!

Awesome stuff-no more store sauce for me--thanks Kevin. Particulars are-- great sticky, thick sauce with great flavor. This means guys that a boil then a simmer has a tendency to send the thick, sticky stuff in random directions every time you lift the lid to stir. I would recommend an outdoor dutch oven as I did or arrange for comfortable dog house when the wife see's what you did to her kitchen. In the spice to taste area, I added 1 teaspoon of hobanaro sauce and 1 teaspoon of Famous Dave's rib spices to the prescribed ingredients. I used one of those chopping, dicing gadgets on the onion and garlic so that I could leave it all in the sauce and I recycled my used catchup bottle for my batch of this killer sauce. If it gets better as it blends in the next couple days I will have to put a lock on the refrigerator.
