Didn't care for this too much. It was very "chunky" with onions and garlic. There was no way you could have strained it like it says at the end of the recipe. I saved myself some trouble by using the already minced garlic in a jar instead of chopping it up myself. I'm sure if I had a food processor that would have been helpful too.

This sauce will be great for the BBQ, but don't do what I did and use it for ribs in the slow cooker! I didn't plan ahead and think about the fact that the alcohol can't burn off the same way in the covered slow cooker and the taste of the bourbon was overwhelming. I will definitely try it again, using it on the grill as recommended and will cut back the amount of bourbon a little too because it was really strong. Easy to make though. Looking forward to making it to use on some grilled chicken soon.

I just can't believe that you haven't bottled this recipe yet. I followed the directions to the letter and my guests loved the sauce so much that some wanted to drink it from the sauce pan. The second time I made it, I lowered the amount of onions and it still turned out perfect. I have been ranting and raving about this sauce that I won't tell my co-workers where I got it from.

If I have the time to make that sauce, I will never buy bottled BBQ sauce again. This sauce is really good. We like it spicy so I added some Sambal Oelek in it. It's a keeper

Like this recipe needs anymore 5 star ratings...but this BBQ sauce is just phenomenal!! It was so easy to make and goes on any BBQ fare. I made a double batch and used it on ribs, pulled pork, steak and hamburgers! I will never buy pre-made BBQ sauce in the store ever again after trying this recipe!

I doubled this recipe, used a whole onion and used Jack Daniels(only the best would do) My family now bugs for it. No more Diana's at our house. As my Stepson says, Its Dana's, not Diana's that is the best.

This recipes ROCKS! I made it EXACTLY as it was written, and it is PERFECT the way it is. I did puree the onions and garlic with a food processor, which gives the sauce a great texture. I made it two days before I used it and, honestly, I was looking for some crusty bread to dunk in it. I couldn't keep out of it. Thankfully, I made a double batch from the get go. As others have suggested, this would make a great homemade gift. THANKS A BATCH FOR SHARING!

I have to admit that I cheat on this sauce, but it has transformed by BBQ, so I had to comment. I start with two bottles of sauce (one sweet, one spicy) and then add pretty much everything that this recipe calls for except for the ketchup, tomato paste and salt. Thanks for all of the ideas!

Never again will I buy barbecue sauce from the store! This was absolutely the best sauce I've ever had or used on chicken -- EVER! Wife loved it and so did I, and that is a hard thing to accomplish!
