This chili was OK on flavor, but not much better than a typical chili dumped out of a can. It's also very high in fat and salt. I agree with another reviewer that this leaves you feeling like a brick hit your stomach.

This is so very delicious because the multilayered flavors meld together so perfectly! I used 1 1/2 lbs each of beef stew meat and ground beef along with the Italian sausage, and among the cans of chili beans I used one of the jalapeno husband pleasing beans, one of mild chili beans, and two of medium spicy (and I forgot to drain any of them). The rest of the recipe I followed except went short on the chili powder (probably used only 3 tablespoons), and I added no salt or black pepper. It was so very tasty! I'll make this many times in the future!

Wow! This is one of the best chili recipes I've ever made. My old, tried and true recipe is now in the trash. The only thing that I changed is to up the onion, omit the tobasco and up the acid with the addition of about 2 tablespoons of vinegar. Great recipe!

My boyfriend and I made this one night, it was really great. We love our chili spicy so we added more peppers from his parents garden and I love beans so we added a can of pinto beans and a can of black beans. The first night we were afraid we had out spiced ourselves as it was nearly inedible because of how hot it was, but after sitting in the fridge for a night we reheated it and had it for dinner and it was amazing. My friend who is always watching her food intake even went back for seconds. The one bad thing about this recipe is that I can never eat canned chili again.

My husband loves chili and I always hated making it because it always came out too thick and didn't have enough flavor. When I came across this recipe and read the reviews I thought I should try it and I'm glad I did. This chili is so easy to make and full of great flavor. I served it for guests and they couldn't get enough. Thank you for posting such a great and easy recipe. Usually I don't like to make things with tons of ingredients but this one is worth it.

Yesterday was my first time making Chili and this recipe was exceptionally easy and delicious. I made it for a work fund raiser and the whole pot was gone before I knew it. It wasn't that spicy. I was short a can of chili beans and forgot to buy a red pepper, otherwise followed the recipe. I will make it again.

OMG!!!!! I am not (let me rephrase that) "was not" very much into chili at all. This is def the recipe to make if you are looking for a Great Chili! I find myself wanting to make this all the time. The first time I made it I thought it had made a ton and I would have alot left to freeze. Well, lets just say it never made it to the freezer! It was soooooooooo good! I guarantee you will be back up for 2nds, even 3rds! Thanks so much!

I absolutely love this chili!!! The recipe is perfect, and I have had many "this is the best chili ever" comments!! I love this spicy fullness. I sometimes add more chopped up vegetables like zuchini. Also use a combination of pork sausage and ground venison.

I made this chili for my husbands co-workers (all men) for a lunch-time pot-luck. Needless to say, by 8:45am, my husband called to inform me it was all gone and they were asking for more!! Great recipe!

Needed a recipe for chili to use at a cook-off/potluck at work, and used this one...didn't have half the seasonings needed, and that made it a bit expensive (My Manager referred to it as the "40 dollar chili") But now that I have all the seasonings, I can make it w/ ease in the future. People loved it, Won second place & the Hubby, who is NOT a chili-person, sweas it is the best he's ever had & was rather sad when I told him it was all gone! I DID substitute Chicken Broth for Beer, and had no Worcestershire sauce or basil on hand...it was still a winning recipe thats goin in my personal recipe box from here on out! EXCELLENT!

To make this healthier, I substituted 99% fat free ground turkey for the beef and turkey italian sausage instead of pork sausage. I also omitted the bacon. Honestly, I was a little concerned that making it so lean would compromise the taste, but we all thought it was delicious! Could have been a little spicier, but we like spicier food than most people.

Just made for the first time and it was excellent! The first day I was worried it was too spicy for some people but by the next day was perfect. Only thing I changed was I used 3 different types of beans. Will definitely make again and again - great recipe!

This chili was delicious. I used kidney beans, black beans, and pinto beans instead of the just the chili beans. I really liked the taste of the three different beans together. I also added a little more beer as I like my chili slightly less thick. The combination of spices was very tasty. Great recipe!

This is the absolute best chili I have ever made. My husband couldn't stop talking about how good it was. He loves chicken, so I seasoned, sauteed and added some to the chili with the other meats. Definitely will be making this again! Great job, thank you! Kathy Cianci, Tampa FL
