I prepared this salad for a Memorial Day BBQ, and it was a big hit with my family. The bowl was scraped clean. Even my southern grandmother, who only eats vegetables cooked in bacon fat, LOVED this dish.

Great recipe. The only reason for four stars is that I made some adjustments. I added raisins and sunflower seeds. As other reviews stated it was a little heavy on the vinegar so I reduced that and I am not a big cheese lover so I greatly reduced that amount. Overall a wonderful recipe, I just made revisions according to mine and my families tastes.

This was not a salad I will ever make again. Too vinegary. I tried to add more sugar initially but still was not crazy about it. Have had much better broccoli salads. IT would be good with a different dressing on it because the ingredients other then the dressing was good.

This is a very good side dish and it's perfect for a cookout. I followed the recipe exactly except for leaving out the onion because my husband doesn't like them.

For the most part it was pretty good - just too vinegary for me!

This was the very first recipe i got from allrecipes.com. I brought this salad to a picnic and it was a hit. I could eat the whole bowl of salad by myself, it is sooo good. I did not tweak this recipe at all.

This is great for pot luck or just a nice summer snack. I don't put the lemon juice in it though

Delicious dressing! But I made a couple of changes. I added cashews and raisins like some of the other reviews suggested. I also followed the other suggestions to only use 1 teaspoon of black pepper, which was more than enough (especially if it's freshly ground). Finally, I only added 1/3 c. sharp cheese. I want to be able to taste the other flavors, not eat a cheese salad with a bit of broccoli.

Pretty yum-o but more vinegary than I prefer. Also good with feta cheese instead of cheddar.

Excellent recipe. I make this often. I avoid pork products so i've made this with several different substitutes. My favorite is cubed steak but beef sausage works very well.

I only had a a bit of raw broccoli left so i decided to make a mini version of this using rough amounts. I actually used regular vinegar and the low cal Miracle whip as opposed to mayo with some splenda as opposed to sugar--virtually no calories and very good. Added no cheese and some onions and nuts.

Good recipe for summer picnics. Remember, a little mayo goes a long way! Also, I like to add roasted sunflower seeds and halved cherry tomatoes. Always the first dish to disappear!

My family loves this salad! While the recipe is delicious as is, we like to do our part in cutting back on a few things. Since we enjoy balsamic vinegar, we used it in the place of red wine vinegar. Instead of sugar, we used the equivalent amount of Splenda. Low-fat bacon tasted just as good as the full-fat version and for an interesting twist, we added a healthy dose of Craisins. It is amazing how tasty and versatile this recipe is. Even with all the changes, it was just as dee-lish and the original. Highly recommended recipe, no matter how you make it!

I've gotten rave reviews on this salad and its a staple for any summer gathering. My only suggestion is to use MUCH less salt than the recipe calls for. If you use that much, you won't taste anything else!

I enjoyed this dish but it didn't knock my socks off. It is something I might make again, though. I did end up doubling the dressing as it seemed a bit dry when I was mixing it.

This recipe was pretty good as is but I found the vinegar and pepper to be overpowering the first time I made it. The next time, I made a double batch for a party and added cauliflower and golden raisins, adjusting the pepper and vinegar to taste. Everyone there loved the salad.
