Added sour cream too, and got rid of some mayonnaise. It was pretty good.

I steamed the broccoli for just a minute to bring out the bright green. I added plumped dried cranberries and raisins, and shredded carrots. Used green onions and less cheese. Might try diced ham rather than bacon next time. Very versatile and the raisins and carrots gave it great color!

My husband and I LOVED this recipe. I am going to have the leftovers for lunch tomorrow and WILL be making this again. Instead of sugar I used a pack and a half of Splenda. I also used the "fully cooked" bacon. I cooked it in a skillet until it was crisp. There was very little fat from the bacon left in the pan. I used the same pan to toast pine nuts. I made the dressing as per the recipe, however I made extra to make the salad a little more creamy. I didn't add much salt. Next time I may try this recipe with low fat cheese and mayo. If you like cauliflower I think that would work mixed with the broccoli.

Excellent base recipe. Subbed cider vinegar and honey for the sugar/red wine vinegar... tasted great, complements all around~!

Too peppery for our taste, and a bit too acidic as well. I would agree with a previous reviewer who recommended a milder vinegar and no lemon juice. The classic combination of salad ingredients is fine, its just the dressing that is off. I have also seen similar broccoli salads that include sunflower seeds or nuts for crunch, which I like. I will remove this one from my recipe box and keep looking for a better one...

Took for Christmas dinner, everyone loved it, once you have the bacon cooked and broccoli chopped it is a snap to throw together!

This recipe was great! My husband HATES raw broccoli and made faces the entire time I made this. However he tried it and loved it. I even caught him eating it for breakfast this morning.

Made this for a Thanksgiving salad, adding about 1/3 cup of craisins. It was SO colorful and looked great!!! Got lots of compliments. I had also taken suggestions from other reviewers and cut out the lemon juice and most of the black pepper. It was very good, but felt a little overpowered by the onion--think I'll try less next time or maybe even switch to green onions. Anyway, this will be a Thanksgiving staple from now on!

This recipe was great and got great reviews from my family! I would make it again. I added even more chopped broccoli and made it a day prior to serving to let the flavors mingle. Yummy!

I've made another version of this. This one was pretty good. The only thing I'd do is reduce the vinegar and add pecans or walnuts. I also used a vidalia onion instead of the purple.

This was really good and easy to make! The sauce was very tasty, however when adding it with the bacon in the salad it came out too salty. (I did use extra bacon, so maybe that was part of the reason.) There were a lot of reviews I read that had changes/additions, but honestly the only change I would make would be to reduce the salt. I will definately make it again!

Loved it! I only made like four or five servings of it because I didn't know if anyone would like it, but it was gone sooo fast! Next time I will make more for sure! I might also add some celery!
