This is a great recipe. I prefer to leave out the cheese and I add chopped walnuts and white raisins. This salad always gets compliments everywhere I take it.

Very Yummy! I chopped the onion very fine since my kids usually see onions and think "spicy". They loved it!

My entire family and all of my relatives rave about this recipe. I usually add craisins and toasted sunflower seeds for some additional texture and flavor.

Excellent! I like to add a little celery seed to the dressing before I mix it in with the broccoli.

This recipe is so good. My family has been making it for years. It's even better if you let it sit for a few hours in the refrigerator before you serve it. Just one thing to watch for...Gas! Cheese, red onion, and broccoli...if you are eating a large meal it can cause pain. But it is worth the pain for the flavor!

I've made this recipe 5 times for 5 different groups of people and it was a hit every time. I really recommend letting it refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours to let the flavors fully mix and to allow the brocolli to soften a bit....it's always a hit.

I've been making this for several years now, and have made a small change. Instead of the red wine vinegar and lemon juice, I substitute balsamic vinegar, and no lemon juice. Add 2 tablespoons of the bacon fat for even more flavor!

I am requested to make this salad all the time and also asked for the recipe often. Reduced the pepper by half and used precooked bacon. Also used reduced fat mayonaisse and it turned out fine.

Amazing! Until now, I have only enjoyed this salad at a local Sonny's salad bar, and am impressed with how similar the taste is to that recipe. I love the real bacon (the one at the restaurant has bac'o bits), but I waited to put the cheese in until after it has chilled, to avoid mushiness. I say it's a hit, but I'll have to see what the hubby says...

My husband liked this more than I did. Just different tastes I guess. I thought the red wine vinegar was overpowering. I will try making it with red wine vinagrette next time....I'll get back to you on this!

Excellent salad for a church luncheon. Went over very well!! I agree with one of the other cooks. You do not need all that pepper. 1 tsp was fine. Will keep this recipe around though. Loved the bacon!!

This is a great salad. Today though I sauted the onion with the bacon and used rice vinegar instead of wine vinegar. Wow! A simple, great tasting variation with a more smooth flavor.

I made this exactly per the recipe for a family gathering. None of us are picky eaters. We all love broccoli so I thought it would be a hit. This was just a disaster. Not one person liked it. WAY too much vinegar and pepper!!! Needs raisins or cranberries or something to tone down the sour taste. Too many different flavors and it got worse as it aged for an hour in the refrig. Will not make it again.
