My own personal classification for blueberry muffins falls into two categories. Those that have a biscuity (?) type flavor and those that are cake-like. I am not claiming those are real categories. I was looking for a more cake like and this is one that is more plain like. My son loves these. I thought they were ok, but not because there was anything wrong with them. This just was not what I was looking for. The only change that I made was using frozen blueberries instead of fresh. I was kind of glad that I did because I think they held better then the fresh would have.

We were extremely happy with this recipe. I did modify it a bit by using 1 cup buttermilk and 1 cup greek yogurt as I did not have sour cream. I also added 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 tsp nutmeg. Will definitely make it again!! Thanks for the recipe.

Very moist and creamy. A great base for muffins. Think I'll try other fruits as well.

Everyone loved these muffins. I did use 1/2 brown & 1/2 white sugar but did not increase the amount.

I wasn't that impressed with this recipe. The muffins came out rather dry and a little dense for my liking. I also took other readers suggestions and added more sugar and they still were not that great.

This is an absolutely delicious blueberry muffin recipe that I've made several times. I did make a few small changes to suit my taste. I added 1/4 cup applesauce and 1/4 cup oil to cut back on fat and calories (when making 12 dz muffins). I also added 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon to the flour and 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg to spice up the dough just a little. Then I mixed 1/2 tsp cinnamon (yeah, i completely dig cinnamon) with 1 1/2 Tablespoon of sugar and sprinkled over muffins before baking. Yuuuummmmm!! Thanks to the author for a keeper recipe!!

These taste like shortbread cookies! Very sweet and great texture. ALso goes great with white chocolate chips and macadamian nuts instead of the berries.

Thanks so much for sharing this recipe! I've gone through many many difference muffin recipes looking for the "perfect" one because others seem to turn out too dry. These were fantastic & a definitely staple for me. I dipped the tops in a lemon glaze (just fresh lemon juice & powdered sugar) and served them at a baby shower bruch and they were the rave!

Sorry, but we did not care for these at all. I followed the recipe exactly... the texture was nothing like a muffin should be & I didn't like the taste.

I also did half white sugar and half brown sugar and frozen blueberries. These are very yummy but I also think they need a crumbly topping. Topping: 1/4 cup each white & brown sugar, 1/3 cup flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon & 1/4 butter

Good basic recipe. I used the suggestion another reviewer listed and used half brown sugar, half white, and increased the sugar by 1/2 a cup. I would also suggest using a streusel topping of some sort. This recipe is definitely worth giving it a try.
