THE BEST CAKE EVER! FOLLOWED IT EVERY STEP AND IT CAME OUT PERFECT. IT TASTE ALOT LIKE POUND CAKE.. REALLY GOOD!

I have been looking for this recipe for about 10 yrs. My grandmother made this cake every fall and winter for the hollidays and it it the most wonderful apple cake our family has had. I moved about 10 yrs ago and a box was stollen and my cook books were in the box s all my of my handwritten recipes were gone. I tried by memory to replicate it. I got close but it was not the same. I know I would know it when I saw it. Thank yu so much foe sharing. You made a family very happy for the hollidays. This cake is wonderful

Excellent, moist and definitely a keeper recipe! Made it as a last minute idea for a casual dinner with friends. Everyone loved the cake!! Didn't take long at all! I did two layers of batter with all of the apples in between. Sprinkled cinn/sugar on top before baking in a 13x9 glass dish. Didn't glaze as others suggested but it was great as is...maybe next time I'll try a light glaze. But either way this will be made again!

This was very good, but I'm not sure I would call it Blue Ribbon good. I took the advice and baked mine in smaller tins for about 45-50 minutes. I also did a bottom layer, apples, and then a top layer. Glad I did this, the batter is thick. I sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar on the top. Cake turned out fine and the top got pretty crisp. Make sure you use quality apples, as I think this is what really makes this recipe taste good. I would make this again.

This cake was interesting in its process but it was super easy and tastes good. I have to say that the mixture was very thick and I didn't get as many layers as it implied. It was very tough to spread the mixture for the first layer so I used a good bit of the batter at the bottom. I placed the apples in the center and then the remainder of the batter on top. Essentially a sandwich of sorts rather than layers. I also baked for the 55 mins and it was a bit unnecessary cause the bottom is a little burnt but i like it like that. I used my cheesecake pan based on another reviewer. Next time, I will bake for about 5-10 mins less. Will try it again. It was a great dessert though. Thanks

I followed the recipe exactly. This cake is OK, but not great. For me it is not worth making again as there are btter apple cake recipes.

Delicious cake! But mine took an hour and a half of baking before it was done. And the batter was probably the thickest cake batter I've ever seen. Result it delicious though and very beautiful!

my husband loved this cake. Next time I am going to make in a cheesecake pan as i messed it up getting it out of tube pan.
