This was very good, but I'm not sure I would call it Blue Ribbon good. I took the advice and baked mine in smaller tins for about 45-50 minutes. I also did a bottom layer, apples, and then a top layer. Glad I did this, the batter is thick. I sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar on the top. Cake turned out fine and the top got pretty crisp. Make sure you use quality apples, as I think this is what really makes this recipe taste good. I would make this again.
