This really hit the spot! I followed a reviewer's suggestion and added a chicken breast to make it a dinner salad (great served with Jiffy corn muffins). I used Braeburn apples -- nice and crunchy. I used skim milk for buttermilk, with a little lemon juice added (a friend told me I could do this for buttermilk -- anyway, it tasted fine). This is going to be a favorite recipe!

LOVE this recipe!! Uncle George says it surpasses my double layer pumpkin pie!!! Followed it pretty much verbatim and added romaine for the old school way mommy used to make waldorf. I also add a nice piece of grilled chicken breast to make a great lunch!! This will be a family staple for years to come!!!

This was very good. I used cinnamon instead of cayenne pepper and pecans instead of walnuts but I got lots of compliments last week and I'm going to make it again tonight.

I love this salad, it is so tasty, easy and different! I left out the onions and red pepper to fit my tastes. I used breaburn apples. Thanks for a fabulous dish!

One of the BEST salads I've ever made! I too used pecans instead of walnuts. Be sure to use a delicious apple because the apple provides a lot of flavor to this salad.

This was SO good. I winged the measurements of everything and left the cayenne out due to personal tastes. It was very light and refreshing but packed big flavors! Will definitely make again, and soon.

Perfect! I used pecans instead of walnuts because that's what I had, and served this on baby red lettuce. Mister said several times that the salad was great, and I thought so too. Thanks!

This is definitely a keeper. I fixed this recipe for my husband and I for dinner and we both thought it was delicious. We loved the combination of flavors. I wouldn't change a thing.

Pretty good. I like the addition of bleu cheese. I'm not sure I liked the cayenne pepper. I might try leaving that out next time. A good side dish that whips together quickly.
