Growing up, my grandmother used to bake us blonde brownies every time she visited. As a result, only a "blondie" is, to me, a true brownie. I thought this recipe tasted ok, but it certainly lacked the rich flavor of a truly decadent blonde in my opinion. I may try it again, but I'm not sure where to start on the recipe. It needs work. Certainly not "bad", though.

I loved the texture of these... nice and ooey gooey, but I do think they were a bit on the rich side! (Although didn't keep me from eating way too many)! Like them, just if you're not into very sweet and rich blondies, this isn't the right recipe for you.

These tasted great, however mine didn't rise at all. I followed all the directions as written, and baking for 22 minutes the edges were almost crispy and the center had the consistency of soft chocolate chip cookies. Not surprising, as another member mentioned, the same recipe is used on this site for cookies. I'll try another recipe next time and see if I have better luck with the brownies not staying mushy.

I've been looking for THE blonde brownie recipe that I could call my own...and I have found it! These are wonderful. The only change necessary is to double the recipe! Thank you!

I made these last night and the only change I made was to double the recipe and bake in a 13x9 pan for 10 minutes longer. They were excellent! Moist, chewey, flavorful - a definite "keeper"!

these were very tasty but had a bit of a cakey/cookie texture rather than a dense chewy brownie. i mixed in the choco chips and that helped... i think i'll try again and mix in that same amount of butterscotch chips in addition to the choco. i realize that will make them very rich, but isn't that what a brownie is supposed to be?! it will also add some more chewy texture.

Very good recipe for company. I doubled the recipe and baked it in a 16 x 11 cookie sheet. Used 1 1/4 cups chocolate chips and baked for 20 min. Excellent served warm with vanilla ice cream.

Delicious! Only thing I omitted was the walnuts. I also mixed the choc chips in. These were gone within a matter of minutes! Great recipe.

It tasted good but I found it to be a little dry and the brownie fell apart. Not at all like the pictures. I followed the recipe exactly so....

These were very good, but I thought there was too much vanilla, I will reduce it next time. I mixed in the chocolate chips instead of sprinkling on top. I think next time I will do that again, but sprinkle some on top as well. I LOVED the consistency of these, they were nice & chewy.

These were awesome!!! My entire family loved them and the pan was almost gone in the first night. I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of mixing in the chocolate chips and baking in an 8x8 greased pan. I cooked them for 23 minutes and they were perfect. The few we had left were not hard the following day either as previous reviews suggested. Will definitely be making again soon!

First time I heard of these and first attempt at making them. Turned out more cakelike than brownie like but was good anyway. My family voted to make again and have with vanilla ice cream. I stirred in the chocolate chips and sprinkled a handful on top, which was perfect. Did not harden like some reviews stated, I stored the leftovers in an airtight container and they were great the next day as well.
