This was very good, but be careful with the spice! Next time I'll sprinkle more lightly. Will also use fresh minced garlic and lemon juice to add a bit more flavor.

I had this type salmon dish at a local resturant on a ceasar salad. It was so good I wanted to duplicate it at home. After reading the comments I made some adjustments to the recipe and it was a HIT! (using olive oil instead of butter and I used garlic powder instead of onion powder and Cooked in the oven instead of skillet on ONE side only on broil for 5 mins then lower rack and lower temp (350) for another 8-10 mins and it was perfect.) Serve this on a bed of lettuce tossed with crutons, parmesan cheese and cesar dressing and it is fantastic. I got both of my boys to eat salad without complaint. Made lots of extra spice to save for next time.

This was a really great recipe, but as others said it REALLY smokes up the house! Just a tip -- don't drench the filets in the seasoning. I really enjoy and can handle spicy food, but when doused in the mixture I was having trouble, it was much to spicy! Be sure to "sprinkle" on.

This is a fantastic recipe! My boyfriend and I lived in Alaska and worked in a fishing lodge, so we know salmon. I am always looking for recipes that do not overpower the taste of fresh salmon and this was great. I substituted some of the salt for garlic salt, and added a little chili powder and extra cayenne. I only used half of the butter (actually used Smart Balance Light) and cooked it in an iron skillet on the grill. I heated the empty skillet for about 20-30 minutes on the grill at high heat and only let the salmon cook for about a minute or less on each side. I served it with a dip of sour cream, horseradish, lemon juice, cayenne, paprika, garlic salt, and minced dried onion.

I was making plain white fish and wanted to "be creative" with my meal as my husband puts it. I saw this recipe and thought I'd try it and it was fantastic on cod I imagine it is the same for the Salmon. He loved it and so did I. Thanks.

I've made this twice, turned out great both times. I used margerine instead of the butter and reduced the amount as well. The man LOVES spicy/cajun stuff and he deemed this recipe a success

My husband thought this was the best fish recipe EVER! He now wants to blacken all fish. We made a sauce on the side with mayo, horseradish, lemon and diced tomato. That part was a nice addition but the fish alone was outstanding!

The salmon in this recipe tastes just like the cajun salmon I love to order at one the local restaurants where I live! Now I can make it at home for a whole lot less! I love it!! The only change I made was that I broiled it on HI, instead of using a skillet! YUM-O!!

This was just okay for me... the spices were good, the salmon was good, but together they were just kind of weird! Super easy though, and I used olive oil instead of butter and blackened them first and finished them in the oven... something was just off though.

Very good and easy. I made extra and put it in a shaker for future use. Fish or chicken would work.

Used about 1/4 the amount of butter and no onion powder. Put salmon in a baguette with tomato, fresh spinach, horseradish and mayo... was awesome!
