This was delicious. My 80 year old father savored every bite. I also doubled the topping, added cinnamon and used 5 cups of blackberries.

I followed the suggestions of the reviewers, and for once, it was a mistake. Doubling the dough is just too much!!! And the seeds were everywhere. My mother in law has a recipe without the seeds, Ill have to follow hers next time!

Loved it! Made it gluten free, used a brown rice all purpose flour mix. I also used four heaping cups of frozen blackberries instead of fresh. It turned out marvelous if I have to say so myself. Everything I kept the same. A must try!

I made it exactly as written EXCEPT I sprinkled a bit of cinnamon over the top before baking. It came out wonderful! Excellent recipe, thanks!

Love! I added a little vanilla to the batter and the berries. I also cut down on the sugar like the other reviewers suggested. I like tart. It was so good.

My family is used to pie crust topping instead of a biscuit so I knew we would like this. I didn't bother boiling the water for the dough. I use more/less sugar and water depending on the fruit. This works well with all of the fruit I have tried. I add lemon juice, orange peel, cinnamon to various ones. You can also not cook all the fruit from the very beginning. Some will be very soft and some will have more texture.

I used 4 cups of frozen blackberries but I think after thawing and draining there was less than 4 cups. I made the fruit filling in a saucepan on the stove, cutting down the sugar to 3/4 c. I wish I'd cut it more. I added just a touch of almond extract. I poured the hot filling in a glass Pyrex pan and then topped with spoonfuls of the topping. I sprinkled a bit of Turbinado sugar on top. My husband called it a foodgasm. It was a bit sweet for me. I think it would be good with Costco's frozen three berry mixture. I will be making this again.

I literally JUST made this and I have to hold back from eating more!! I'm hoping there are leftovers after the party tonight! I used brown sugar and organic cane sugar. Oh wow oh wow. Yummy!

Great recipe, but a little bit sweet. I will probably use only half cup in the fruit mixture next time. Also i think the fruit filling is a little watery if served while still warm. But the taste is wonderful.

The cobbler itself was absolutely delicious, warm with some ice cream but Holly Cow, $12.00 for out-of-season blackberries. I don't think I'll try this recipe again until our Okanagan Valley blackberries are ready.
