In my family we aren't big cooks, but we went picked some Blackerries and needed a recipe. We tried this one and it was awesome! Because of the recipe I joined the site and we're going to try and spend more time in the kitchen. Thanks so much!!

Awesome recipe. This is definately the best recipe for blackberry cobbler I know. Next time I'll cut the amount of sugary water in half, because it seemed too much for my pan, floating around at the bottom. This was a fun cobbler to make and veeeeeeery delicious! Thank you!!

the wife said this was very hard to roll and slice. the fresh berries softened the dough,, the flavor was very good though, especially warm with ice cream on it, YUMMY

This is sooooo good. My hubby loves it hot from the oven with vanilla ice cream too. I also (after reading another review) just put half the dough in with the butter, sprinkled it with a little cinnamon/sugar mixture, put the berries in and then the rest of the dough and a little more cinnamon/sugar and covered it all with the sugar syrup. It was very quick and came out great with a crisp top. These types of recipes are why I keep coming back to allrecipes.com. Thank you for sharing.

YUMMY! I made this tonight for my husband and used frozen berries. I didn't let them thaw and I think that made it more difficult to roll and cut, but it still turned out awesome! Thanks for the great recipes, we will definately be making this again!

I thought this recipe was just okay. It came out very "cakey" with very little liquid. If you prefer a chewy/crispy crust this is not it. Maybe if you don't use self rising flour that would help. Also, I thought it needed a touch of vanilla extract. Hubby said it was good.

I use this recipe but I use mixed berries instead of blackberries and I don't roll it out, I layer it in the pan with dough, berries, dough and it cuts the prep time in half and it's absolutely fabulous.

I have grown blackberries all of my life, and Grandma and I used to cook blackberry cobbler routinely. This is the best recipe I have ever tasted. I substituted 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream instead of milk - but it's great either way!
