This recipe tastes great. My only gripe is that it is really hard to roll it up like described. It is much easier just to randomly drop the dough in. It looks similiar and tastes the same. I've used this to make blueberry cobbler too.

This blackberry cobbler tasted great! I would, however, use less sugar syrup and melted butter because it came out a little soupy...I used frozen blackberries and put it in a pie plate...

The first time I made this, I really struggled with getting the pieces into the pan without spilling the contents. Since then, I've mashed the batter into little patties and placed them on top of the berries and it has been just as delicious and much less messy. For a twist, I've served it with fresh whipped cream with a little Myer's Dark Rum mixed in. Thank you so much for sharing this!

I've made quite a few cobblers, but all of them were pretty much the same until I found this recipe! This is just different enough to be special! If your looking for a cobbler that will impress your significant other, this is the one. Only thing I changed from the way it was written is the size of the cut, once you have rolled up the dough and berries. Cut it around 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch and it works perfect and fits just right in the pan. I can't imagine how you would cut it as thin as the recipes calls for or why you would want to. Make it and enjoy with ice cream on top, wonderful! Thanks Trudy!

This is absolutely the best cobbler recipe I have EVER made/eaten. In addition to blackberries, I make this with peaches and it's a HUGE hit no matter where I take it. Its also so easy! This is my no. one all time favorite dessert recipe. I'm sharing it on facebook because so many people have asked me for the recipe. AWESOME.

When I first put these in the oven I was worried that they would not come out right. But when they were done and I added the sugar at the end also they came out great and very good. I would use this recipe again and pass it on.

OMG! this was outstanding. It was the first time I have made any sort of Cobbler, and this one read well, so I tried it, just as it was written, and it was amazingly delicious to me. You can't go wrong here and it was pretty easy for most anyone to make.

MMMM this was very good! My boyfriend ate it all in one night! When you go to slice the dough, instead of using a knife, wrap dental floss around it then pull to get a perfect cut!

OHHHH YUM! I think I like this better than blackberry pie! I also layered the dough and berries, and it turned out perfectly. Much easier that way. Next time I make it I think I'll try using less melted butter- seems like it wouldn't hurt.

Mine turned out great. Topped it with a little brown sugar ice cream and it was heaven. I didn't have any self-rising flour so I used the all purpose flour, salt, and baking powder and my crust turned out crisp. I also did the layering thing to cut the prep time. Unfortunately, my neighborhood grocery store didn't have any fresh blackberries so I used two bags of the frozen blackberries and it worked out fine.

Oh wow - I've never made a cobbler before but my husband had been begging for cobbler for weeks. Blackberries came fresh from the backyard and I followed the recipe EXACTLY. Made it three times now and everyone that has had it wants to switch to this recipe. Thanks for sharing your family legacy and making a legacy for others!!!

This was my first attempt at any cobbler and it was AMAZING! My husband and I spontaneously came across a patch of blackberries on a hike and when I got home I looked up this recipe. We served it to several of our friends the next day and they all agreed it was the best cobbler they've ever had. I didn't alter a thing...it is perfect just this way. The only thing I would suggest is to be careful when cutting the rolled-up dough. The berries fall out, but it still works when everything is placed in the dish on the butter.

Oh my gosh, is this ever delicious?!?! I made this today and I didn't quite have 2 cups of blackberries so I tossed in some raspberries. It was wonderful! My little girl is 4 years old and she had black juice running down her chin while eating it and she gobbled it up! LOL Great recipe!

Fantastic recipe and a delight warm or chilled. Vanilla ice cream on tope makes it even better. I didn't use all the syrup, as the pan could not hold it. I doubled up the recipe and froze the 2nd, uncooked, covered with tin foil and placed in a vacuumed sealed freezer Ziploc bag. My husband said to put "LOTS of crumble" on top. He didn't know the recipe didn't call for it, so I obliqued his craving with a quick recipe of oatmeal crumble on the top. He LOVED it.

Yes, this was the best!! I did not roll out the dough but instead dropped it in the pan in little bits, layer of berries, more dough, berries, finished it with dough. After baking 45 minutes, Tbl sugar and cinnamon mix on top and finished baking. Was worried it would be too sweet so only used 3/4 c sugar-water and it turned out WONDERFUL!!!!
