The recipee by itself did not have much flavor. I added extra soy sauce once it was on my plate & that helped. I think adding stir fry sauce or something else to add flavor would help.

We all found this pretty plain even though I added mushrooms and onions. It did help to put more black pepper on while eating eat. Maybe with different spices it would be more tasty but this wasn't for us...sorry. Michele, Cambridge, Ontario

I used Chinese leaf instead of cabbage. Yum!

Awesome quick and easy!!! My kids loved this and ask for it all the time. Its easy to see why its the mac & cheese of Asian children. Served with rice or over noodles and easy to tweak with other veggies & variations on the sauce this dish has become a favorite in our household.

I love, love, love it!!! I use more garlic and have found I don't need the cornstarch or water at the end. Maybe, I use more cabbage than listed, so it doesn't have a lot of sauce to thicken.

Tasty 1 skillet meal and pretty quick to make. I added mushrooms and beef broth, but I still thought something was missing. Next time I will add carrots and more spices.

I really liked it until I added the cornstarch mixture. The cornstarch gave it a weird taste and made it mushy. If I make agin I will leave out the cornstarch.

I added mushrooms and thin slivers of carrot to add more nutrition. Used minced lamb. Put over noodles. Only thing I would do different next time is to add a splash of oyster sauce.

This was fabulous! It had great Chinese flavor, and was more economical than the recipes calling for pepper steak. I added an onion with the garlic and used a mixture of ground beef and ground turkey. It's great over rice. Thanks for a winner!

Great recipe - something different to throw into the rotation! Quick and easy, made with ground turkey, added a can of sliced mushrooms, and threw in a bit extra pepper for some kick. Will for sure make again. Thanks for sharing!

I agree with the person who said the meat should be drained of fat. I didn't my first try and I think it probably took away from the taste of this dish. On the plus side, everyone in my household liked it. Will keep this one.
