This is alright. Tasty enough. It's a huge quantity (6 servings would be large), and very heavy on the tomatoes, so not great if you're at all likely to get acid.

I am surprised how much I liked this. I had planned on adding ham but am glad I tried it without. I changed this a little to accomodate what I had in my pantry. I used 1 can of rotel instead of the tomatoes and jalapeno. I had a can of low sodium black eyed peas and just threw the entire can in and left out the added salt. I waited until the end to add the cilantro because I prefer the flavor when it is still fresh. I will defintely make this again with whatever beans I have on hand. Next time I will sub honey for the sugar to make it even healthier. This is a very quick and easy dinner that could easily be enjoyed year round.

Save yourself the 30 minutes of cooking and prep time by making this recipe the easy way. Pour a jar of salsa on top of pasta, then mix in can of beans. It tastes fine, but nothing to write home about.

I actually ended up making this in the crock pot! I used a bag of dried black eyed peas, and threw everything else in except the tomatoes and vinegar, which I added right before serving (I heard they mess up the beans somehow if you add them earlier). I also added in some carrots and added some more spices since there are more beans in there. Delicious and easy!

STELLAR! We used ditalini pasta so it would be the same size as the peas, and since I had no peppers, I diced up carrots instead. A little hot sauce on the table really rounded it out. Just wonderful, thanks for the recipe!

Maybe I just don't like the combination of beans and pasta (although I love them separately). I found this okay but nothing to write home about. BUT, my finicky 5 year old liked the sauce when I removed the beans from her portion. So now I use this as a sauce recipe, minus the beans, and using red pepper instead of green so that the pepper will be undetectable.

Really good recipe! I added the whole can of peas and tomato, and left the rest as it is. Great flavoring, and simple enough to put together.

This is (obviously) a real departure from your average pasta dish. Could be a little hotter, but otherwise pretty good. Will probably make again for the change in pace.

This was really good. I would change one thing- the ratio of black eyed peas to pasta. I don't like filling up on flavorless carbs. It was really good and my fat boyfriend liked it even though there wasn't any meat in it.

Quick, easy and delicious. I didn't think it would be so flavorful but it was a hit that my dinner guests enjoyed. I make it often. Thanks for the recipe!
