The taste is great, but I only gave it 4 stars because it took too long to make it. Perhaps is was just me or my pan or my stove, but it took almost an hour to cook the gravy.

I made with regular sausage and did everything else as stated in the recipe. It was outstanding. I live by Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen in Chapel Hill and this gravy blows theirs away. I just wish I got off this dumb diet so I could have biscuits and gravy again. Thanks, Bill. It's a real keeper.

Best ever sausage gravy ... don't change a thing except sometimes you have to add a little extra milk. I use all hot sausage as well.

Yummy! This is the recipe my mom and grandma have used for years. We serve over biscuits with grated cheese and grated hard boiled eggs. I'm making it for dinner again tonight.

great gravy! In the past my gravy has been a little blah but this was yummy. I did tweek a bit I used sage not maple and use about 6 oz crumbled and made patties out of the rest. Also did a 1/2 cup heavy cream and the rest 2% milk cus thats what I had. Had an over all rich tast and the family loved it! thanks

This turned out great! My boyfriend loved it, and so did I. The maple sausage gave it a great flavor that I've never tasted in gravy before. I am making this again today for dinner.

This was my first time making biscuits and gravy. My boyfriend, who LOVES southern cooking, was my guinea pig...sorry honey :) Anyway, he absolutely LOVED this recipe and has begged me to put this in my recipe box. Needless to say I'll be making this again...soon!

I, like a previous reviewer didn't have any fat from my Bob Evan's regular sausage (didn't have maple). I added 5 tbls of butter (not margarine) instead of 3 as she did. It turned out excellent...better than restaurants I've been in. Everyone else loved it too...thanks for sharing!

This is great. It was especially great for me because I woke up on a Sunday morning and smelled sausage. I walked down stairs and the boyfriend was at the stove cooking! First time he has ever cooked for me. It turned out awesome. We put our gravy over english muffins.

This was okay. I didn't have the maple sausage so I used sage. It tasted too flour-y to me. I don't think my sausage had very much fat and that might have been a problem. It was just okay. I won't make it again.

This is a great recipe for sausage gravy. I've been searching for this recipe for a long time. I followed the instructions, and it turned out fantastic. I thought that using maple sausage was strange, but it tasted wonderful.
