I rated this 4 but these were so unbelievably amazing the way I made them. We ended up making 3 batches! I used 2 1/2 cups of ap flour, 1 1/2 tsp of baking soda, 2 tsp of cinnamon, no cloves, 1/2 cup brown sugar INSTEAD of molasses, 1 TB vanilla INSTEAD of water, and a lot more ginger like 4 tsp of ground ginger and OVER a TB of grated fresh ginger root. I dropped the balls into brown sugar and flattened slightly I also used parchment paper for no fuss removal and easy cleanup and I sprayed my hands w/ cooking spray before rolling so I didn't have to put the dough in the fridge. My family was eating them faster than I could bake them, I should have just doubled the recipe to begin w/. This is my new go-to cookie and I will always make these everytime I go anywhere and need to bring food. Ginger is so beneficial I doubt we will get it any other way than this. I just hate how I cant stop!:)
