I'm usually not a huge fan of ginger cookies due to their strong flavor but I made them for my husband since he loves gingersnaps. I'll have to say these cookies were amazing! They have a terrific flavor not overpowering. Everyone loved them! Can't wait to make them again.

These were absolutely delicious! Even my teenage son enjoyed them and he doesn't usually say a lot about my baking! Thanks for sharing the recipe! I'll definitely be making these for Christmas and throughout the year.

My husband who has always hated ginger cookies really liked these cookies. The rest of the family likewise gave it a big thumbs up. I substituted 1/2 cup of butter and 1/4 cup of applesauce for the 3/4 cup of margarine.

I made these cookies for my dad's birthday. They really do stay soft! My two year old sons loved them too.

I had to try these because of the great reviews. I am looking for new recipes to make for Christmas gifts and decided to try this one. I won't be making it again. Perhaps I am just not a ginger cookie fan. They aren't awful by any means, but nothing I will ever crave.

My cookies turned out flat and gooey - but tasty. I thought they would be rejected by the whole family - but surprise - just like so many other reviews - my kids and husband loved them! A new family favorite!

Fantastic cookies! I used brown sugar instead of molasses (1 C molasses = 3/4 C brown sugar) and had no problems with dough stickiness. I will definitely be making these again!

These are amazing, I'm not a big ginger cookie fan but these may have turned that around. I love the chew they have and the flavor isn't over the top, will definately be making more and probably very soon.

These cookies came out so perfect looking that everyone insisted they were store bought. Luckily my husband was there while I was making them, so I had proof that they were homemade. They turned out chewy, but I would have liked them even chewier (that's why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5). But I would definitely make them again.

WONDERFUL! I doubled the recipe, and thought I would have a lot left over. They were meant to be extra snack food at Thanksgiving. Not only did half of the people that were supposed to be there not come (and of course nobody told me until the day of!) but I didn't have ANY left over. The only change I made was to use orange juice instead of water, as suggested. Delicious!

As a cook who has the utmost confidence in trying any savory dish- but is intimidated by any baking recipe- I was hesitant to try making homemade cookies less than 12 hours before I was to prepare and serve the usual huge Thanksgiving feast. However, this recipe is very easy and turned out fantastic! I tasted the batter after it was mixed and felt that it needed a bit more flavor, so I added about 1/3 cup of brown sugar. Very tasty, very soft cookies with the perfect complementing flavor for holiday dishes!

These cookies were great! Everybody LOVED them. I followed the recipe exactly, except I made the balls slightly larger to get bigger cookies. I have some really picky people in my family, but they ate multiple cookies and said they were great.

Amazing recipe! The cookies turned out perfectly - soft and chewy with a touch of crisp on the edges! So good! I only dropped the cookie (in dough form) into the sugar - on 1 side and flattened (as per other reviews), and instead of water I used spiced rum. These cookies do not spread or change shape much in baking. I will use this recipe again!
