Made these for my SO, and he loved them, said this is his new favorite cookie. So I guess that makes a 5 star rating from me!!

These smell wonderful while baking. Unfortunately I had to put a tray back into the oven because it did not cook fully (still pretty soggy). I took the advice of patting them down a bit with my palm (just to make the top a bit flat). They looked beautiful.

I double checked all the ingredients and I followed the recipe exactly, but the taste was just horrible! I don't get it

Made the cookies tonight as a double batch for a cookie exchange. I wasn't sure I'd have time to finish them as many reviewers recommended chilling the dough to roll it, but as it turns out I didn't need that step at all and they turned out perfectly. I think next time I'll drizzle them with icing. Anyway, I added OJ concentrate because I didn't want to bother mixing the orange juice. I didn't roll the cookies in sugar but even without it they were really quite good, and I cooked them for 8 minutes with great results. Seriously, the recipe was super easy and this evening I scrolled through the zero and one star comments to figure out why people didn't like it - I'm stunned. Don't worry too much about this recipe, they are easy and yummy cookies without any fancy steps. Oh, and if you worry about the molasses flavor (as one reviewer stated ruined her cookies, which I thought was funny because it's such a key ingredient), make sure to buy the MILD flavored molasses. The dark molasses is very strong, but most people can tolerate the mild in cookies and other baked goods.

These are wonderful! What the perfect cookie for Christmas time! I followed the recipe to a 'T'! Make sure your butter is room temperature! They came out perfect with cracks on them...just the look I was going for! The cookie taste wonderful and is one of the softest cookies I have ever had! I'll have to pass this recipe along!

Absolutely DELICIOUS. Substituted butter for margarine. I rarely repeat cookie recipes (I always want to try new things), but I think I will have to for this one. I also flattened with my palm.

Oh my GOD, these are so good and so simple to make. I didn't have to beat in the egg, my butter/sugar mixture was soft enough that it made it easier to mix in. Tip: Heat butter at 30% power for a minute to a minute and a half, after cutting it into little pieces. It will make mixing easier, especailly if you have a broken beater like I do. Also, there is no need for the extra sugar in the end, they are fine by themselves. Well, they do make them prettier...

Very nice. I like that they're gingery and not so much full of the other spices like ginger cookies often are. Nice and soft and chewy.

The flavor was exactly what i was hoping for. However, halfway through baking these, i realized i forgot to use oj, as some readers had suggested! oh well, next time! i made these for a holiday cookie exchange, so i rolled them in homemade colored sugar. why did the red ones rise perfectly and the green ones stay flat and greasy? they both came from the exact same dough that was chilled between batches. So strange! Any thoughts?

I love this cookie! I have to make every year at christmas time. If you want more of a gingersnap cookie, cook it a little longer. But this cookie recipe will make a nice soft ginger cookie that is full of spice and stays soft! YUM!

YUM!! I accidentally used 2 tablespoons of ginger rather than 2 teaspoons. I will always make it that way. Great cookies!

These are SOOOOOO GOOD!!!! I'm glad I found this recipe after getting tired of eating chocolate chip cookies! Spectacular! I use honey instead of molasses and also use nutmeg and allspice instead of the ground cloves when I don't have them! AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!
