First of all I can't believe I actually had all of the ingredients for this recipe. Secondly, it is outstanding. the longer it cooks the thicker it gets. I used on chicken and can see using it on just about any meat.

Incredible BBQ sauce. Probably the best I have had. The only alteration I made was using apple cider vinegar instead of red wine. I didn't have any red wine vinegar on hand. Even with the alteration the recipe was out of this world. This recipe is a keeper.

Fabulous! I didn't have the molasses (but I do for next time) so I subbed Pure Maine Maple Syrup and omitted the brown sugar because of the sweetness of the syrup. Otherwise I made the recipe as is and it was SO GOOD! Sweet and Tangy. Next time I will use the molasses and see which combo I like better. I served this on pulled chicken breast sandwiches for me (Hub had his with NO bread). I just added the two shredded chicken breasts into the sauce pan with my sauce (which I had scaled to 12) and let it simmer for a few minutes. I was extremely happy with the results. Thank you so much for sharing this!

I cut the portions to 12, and made it as indicated. AWESOME! Put it over the "BBQ Pork for Sandwiches" from this site....it could not have been any better!

Not like this recipe need more raves, but it's good. Damned good. I didn't have everything so I altered a few things. Used a bottle of Guinness vs. 1 1/4 c. vinegar and only 3/4 c. red vinegar. Used raw garlic vs. powder. (what can I say I don't like vampires?) The flavor is amazing and the heat builds in your mouth and tingles your tongue. It's not enough to burn, but enough to sizzle a little. I plan on slow cooking turkey legs in the sauce...we'll see how it turns out!

This is an excellent Bar-B-Q sauce. I followed the recipe exactly the first few times. I have since added my own twists to it. I used dark honey instead of molasses and used a mesquite smoke instead of hickory. I can't tell you how much my family and I enjoy this. I used it all the time! We have stopped buying sauce now. Thanks for sharing your recipe!

Might be a little too sweet for some with the molasses and brown sugar but good flavor overall. The heat from the cayenne, chili powder and black pepper does not burn the tongue but gives you a little heat towards the back of your mouth which is really nice.

Wanted grilled BBQ chicken, didn't have BBQ sauce, but had the ingredients for this. I've made BBQ sauce before, but never from a recipe...just added things til it tasted right. This is FAR better than any attempt I've ever made! Made 1/2 batch, used apple cider vinegar for most of the red wine vinegar about a 2:1 ratio. Did half honey and half molasses. Subbed celery salt for celery seed. Also added about a TSP or 2 of light corn syrup- I've found that gives BBQ sauce a nice 'shine'. Simmered 20-30 mins. Once cooled, I funneled it into an old ketchup squeezy bottle. This sauce is the perfect mix of BBQ flavors...smoky, tangy and sweet with a kick... A little thin though. Made FANTASTIC Grilled chicken breasts. I don't think I'll ever buy BBQ sauce again, and next time I'll make the full amount! UPDATE: I wanted to do a whole BBQ chicken on the grill- put bird in a roasting pan, doused in this sauce and put the pan on the grill for 2-1/2 hrs, basting throughout. AWESOME chicken and the leftovers made the BEST chicken salad EVER with black beans, corn and cumin/chili powder/mayo/chive sour cream 'sauce'. The BBQ sauce flavor really came through in the chicken- can't wait to do it again! ***3RD REVIEW: Made full recipe amount & added 1TS cornstarch + 1TB h20 mixed, 1/2 molasses 1/2 honey, simmered 2 hrs...PERFECTION!!! Nice & thick, PERFECT flavor. Big Al, YOU ROCK!

This is a great recipe! it made a lot! I used this for pulled pork in my crock. Poured half of it on and reserved the other half in a mason jar. Perfect recipe, nothing needs to be added to or taken away! Love it!!

halved the recipe and still had plenty to go in the fridge. Used with the Slow Cooker Pulled Pork from here. Delicious! Made the French Rolls to die for and we had a great sandwich. I didn't have molasses of any sort so i subbed honey and it was still delicious! Oh and I had celery salt so I used that and regular ole liquid smoke. Tasty
