I am finally done searching for a homemade BBQ Sauce. This one is perfect. Although I didn't have red wine vinegar, I used 3/4 cup of white vinegar and 1/2 c. of Sherry. Didn't seem to mess it up, as the flavor was awesome. I used this sauce to make BBQ pork sandwiches, and still had some left to store. You gotta try this BBQ Sauce. Thanks for such a great recipe!

Yummy, yummy, yummy! My husband was completely suprised that I actually made the sauce. The only thing i did diferent from the recipe was use honey instead of the molasses. It was still delicious!

This is a great sauce, however I only gave it 4 stars because it is way too sweet. Nexttime I make it I will cut down on the sugar. It is definitly a keeper though. Thank you for this recipe!!

This is the first BBQ sauce that I have made. Followed it all the way through and added a little more salt and cayenne pepper to taste and simmered about 45 minutes. AWESOME, AWESOME sauce!! I made it for a cookout my wife and I had this summer. It looked so good when I read it that I decided to double it! I got great complements from the sauce! I am surprised Big Al released the reciepe from his resturant. I would have kept this a secert! Goes GREAT with ANYTHING!! Good job Al !!!

This spectacular recipe took me back to Ks and Flint Hills... My family and friends LOVE this sauce. I did the math and used #10 cans of tomato sauce and ketchup. Then canned it in quart jars. Gifts this season are covered!! THANKS AL!!!

I liked the sauce, but it was very, very sweet. It goes well with more bland, low-fat meat like chicken or pork. I think it's too sweet for beef. Also, I thought the red wine vinegar gave it kind of a weird tang. That might just be personal preference. I think next time I'll use apple cider vinegar and a little bit less sugar.

Amazing sauce. I made it exactly as written. I used it on ribs. My other half said he could drink it in a glass. This is the only barbeque sauce i will use again.

Awesome sauce! I was short on ketchup (only 3/4 cup) and was out of tomato sauce. I added an 8-ounce can of tomato paste to the ketchup and balanced out the thickness by adding Southern Comfort to reach 2 cups (I was splitting the recipe in half). I skipped the vinegar since I added alcohol. I left the spice amounts as-is in the full recipe. When it was done, I took 1 cup of it and added 1 cup of applesauce for Ted Reader's pork chop recipe. Delicious!

This barbeque sauce is delicious! It is the perfect balance of sweet and spicy smokiness! I used it to make BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches and I highly recommend the combination!

I do wish I could give this more stars...I made it for some old fashion finger licking good baby back ribs and I was sooooo not disappointed. I froze my leftover sauce and used it on grilled chicken, I think it was even better the second time!

One of the best sauces I've ever tasted! I followed the directions to a T except the liquid smoke because i couldn't find it in our local grocery store. I used the sauce in the slow cooker with some chicken for delicious shredded bbq chicken sandwiches. Will most definitely use this recipe again and again!

Very good! Made exactly as directed except simmered mine quite a bit longer as I like a thick barbeque sauce. Thanks for the recipe!

This is the best Bar-B-Q.. I try to make recipes as listed for the first time so I can properly review them but I did not have the hickory-flavored liquid smoke and cerely seeds on hand, so I elminated them all together. I also only use Splenda sugars when I cook. I cut the original called for sugar in half and use splenda in place of. Even with these changes, I loved the sauce. I made some extra and kept it in the fridge for later use. I have so far used this sauce on Ribs, Chicken drumsticks and was used on Cheese burgers. *Added note* I have used this recipe many times now and have since added some things for personal taste I thought I would share.(I cut the recipe to 24) I now add 1/8 tsp. of whatever hot sauce we have on hand. 1/4 tsp. of worcestershire sauce and 2 tablespoons pure honey. I still have not tried this with the missing ingredients (smoke or celery seeds) I can't imagine it any better, I crave this sauce, its perfect...

Fantastic! Easy to make. I made it exactly as listed and didn't change a thing. I'm vegetarian and love pouring this on top of my veggie meatballs! Yumm.

This recipe was great. I did make some changes. I like my sauces well seasoned. I did not use the mollasses, instead I used honey.

This was the first time I ever made BBQ sauce. Not only was it super easy, it was super delicious on BBQ chicken!
