Ingredients

  • 6 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 3/4 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In double boiler over low heat, melt the chocolate and butter together, stirring frequently until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, mix together eggs, vanilla, salt and sugar. Beat with an electric mixer for 8 to 10 minutes. Slowly pour in chocolate mixture and flour. Stir in the walnuts. Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan
  4. Bake for 17 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, until the top is crackled. Let cool for 2 hours before cutting into squares.
