Amazing Oatmeal Raisin cookies! I don't normally even like oatmeal raisin cookies but I needed to make some for another person who does. This recipe is so great that I am making them for me now! Love them!

Excellent cookies. I used all butter - no shortening; all brown sugar - no white. But, I think what made them a hit was soaking the raisins in brandy for an hour. Do NOT overbake.

ONE cup of raisins? I make these often and I put almost THREE cups in . . light crispy outside - chewy inside . . PERFECT - -or leave out the cloves and put chocolate chips or m&ms in!

Nummy! I use less shortening ( regular, not butter-flavored) and add applesauce. like 1/4 cshortening, add 1/4 c applesauce I also beat the eggs and vanilla and soak the raisins for up to an hour or so beforehand to plump them up. they are very good!

I'm real picky on the appearance of my cookies. I made these last night. They got too brown for me. They are still really soft, too soft for me. However, I won't make again simply because they were dark brown and don't look good at all. If I walked by a plate of brown cookies, I'd keep walking and not try them.

Delicious!! I used 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon and added a cup of white chocolate chips. Also baked for 9 minutes as several others suggested and flattened a bit. These are fantastic!

Hi, although I think this is a 5 star recipe on it's own (without a doubt) I DID change a couple of things... I used all butter, 1 1/4 cup brown sugar & 1/4 cup of white sugar. The only thing I would change next time I bake these (and there WILL be a next time) I will add more cinnamon. I found that the last couple of batches I cooked had more body to them. The next time, I will let the dough set on the counter for 30 to 45 minutes before baking. I made these about golf ball size on the cookie sheet & cooked them for about 17 to 19 minutes. I let them set on the cookie sheet for about 3 minutes before removing them. Using parchment paper makes removal so easy! I made 28 cookies at this size. This is THE BEST oatmeal raisin cookie recipe! They came out with just a little bit of crustiness on top and soft & chewy inside - yummmmm! I compared it to the one on the Quaker oatmeal container & the ingredients are mostly the same but the measurements/amounts are different. That changes te end result! Plus the addition of the cloves is a great touch. Don't hesitate to make these cookies!
