This is a great recipe! I used cranberries instead of raisins because I don't like them. The second time I made them I also added some white chocolate chips. Yum. Thaks for the great recipe!!!!

I just made this recipe this morning. I did something I haven't done sense I found this site and that is, do the recipe "as is" and before I read the reviews. There was a couple of things I did do but I don't think they changed anything too important. 1. I soaked the raisins (only because Mom always did) 2. I used a tablespoon to drop the cookies onto the parchment, and 3. I was too lazy to take my baking stone out of the oven. Baked for 12 minutes and they came out wonderful. Using a tablespoon made 33 cookies. I think that they would have been way too small for any REAL cookie lover using the teaspoon! Next time I may play around with spices just for the fun of it!! ***UPDATE*** I made these this morning, they tasted good but not great. I was going over the recipe with some friends that stopped by for left over soup and found I made a mistake. I only used 1/2c brown sugar rather than the 1c the recipe called for. That could be the difference between "good" and "great".

These are amazing cookies. My husband LOVES them and he usually is not a big cookie fan. He will sit down and eat 6 or 7 at a time!!! Great recipe thank you:)

I actually have this recipe taped to the outside of my oatmeal container. These cookies are very good. If I don't want a spicey cookie, I simply leave out the spices. These are good either way, chewy with a great flavor. Thank you for this recipe.

Best recipe ever. I made two batches of cookies - one choc chip and one of these. I thought my flatmates would have gobbled up the chocolate chip ones, but these went first. So chewy, sweet, delicious and soft. Very more-ish!

I followed recipe EXACTLY and these just were OK. My boyfriend ate them, but I did not. I guess I am just a Quaker Oatmeal cookie recipe girl. But, it was fun to try new things, I just don't think these were the cookies for me.

These were good but flat. I compared this recipe to the one on the quaker oats can and the cloves are not the only difference, she adds more butter/crisco...double to be exact. Quaker calls for 2 sticks of butter while she calls for 2 sticks plus 1/2 cup crisco. So the cookies came flat. Luckily I only baked half the dough so I added more flour, brown sugar and another egg and they came much more thick and still very good.

I love love love these cookies! They were nice and chewy but not too soft. I will use this recipe always! Thank you Beth! *My advice is to foil the bottom of your sheet, they brown beautifully!

These were very good cookies. I finished them in 2 days (with a little help). I cut the recipe in half and they were perfect nibblers. Not too sweet, not too spicy... IDEAL.

Deeeeelicious! I substituted dried cranberries for raisins and added a dash more vanilla. Next time I might try pumpkin spice in them to mix it up a bit. Perfect oatmeal cookie staple recipe.

These are fantastic. I had never made oatmeal cookies before and was a little worried about consistency and dryness but no need to worry. The batter was so tasty I was excited to try the final product. The smell is so delightful in the house as well. I will be baking these again for sure.

These are the best! My only change is I don't like cloves, so I just up the cinnamon to a teaspoon. They are one of my most requested cookies.

These cookies are absolutely delicious. I used all butter (instead of half butter / half shortening) because I think shortening in cookies, cakes, and icing is a crime! The cookies were soft, chewy, rich, and flavorful. Yum!
