I have tried lots of cookie recipes before,but i have got to say this is the best by far.They are nice and chewey,but most important of all is that my kids family and friends all loved them aswell.So thanks Beth for sharing such a great recipe.

these cookies were good, but not that good. i like mine a little moister & flatter! these were too cakelike, but they were beautiful & were still gone in a couple of days! i am trying to find a good chocolate chip cookie recipe & will keep looking... but will make these in the meantime!

If you are looking for a chewy cookie, this is NOT the recipe..... Its very very dry not worth the time and effort, WILL NOT BE MAKING AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These cookies were AWFUL!!! I have no clue why the rating is so good for these. Other than adding the nuts, I followed the recipe exactly and they were very dry and cakey. Even my four year old daughter spit it out and threw it away. I will definately not be making these again. Ick.

Thank you for this great recipe! Very easy to make & tastes great ... a definite with my entire family! I love the flavor of butter so opted to use all butter in the recipe (great flavor & texture). I used semi - sweet chocolate chunks & added 2 T. hot water - the dough seemed a little stiff & I remember a chocolate chip cookie recipe from long ago that called for the hot water - again my cookies turned out great. I set timer for 10 min & on some batches added a 1-2 min (keeping close eye on them). Allowed to cool for 2-3 min. & then they just seemed to disappear! This is now my new standby chocolate chip cookie recipe.

I thought these were a little on the cakey side, but I know that's what some people prefer. I just thought they would be chewier than they are. My family seemed to enjoy them.

I've been looking for a chocolate chip cookie that has a great taste and the perfect texture. Up until now, all of my cookies have come out flat and either ultra-gooey (borderline rubbery) or ultra-crunchy, and even ugly. These are beautiful cookies. It's true- they don't lose their shape. Not too sweet, but just sweet enough.

This is the only chocolate chip cookie recipe I will use from now on. It is chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside. I made slightly larger cookies (which still yielded over 3 dozen) so I had to reduce the oven temperature and bake for a little longer. These are fantastic!

These are great!!! I'm a firm beliver in baking with butter, so I used all butter and the cookies came out just fine. Wonderful flavor. Definately a "keeper" recipe.

Absolutely the best chocolate chip cookie I have had homemade. My daughter made these cookies, and since she's very impatient, she made them about 3 times the size the recipe called for. It was brilliant. It did take maybe 5-10 minutes more to bake but it was worth the wait. One thing I really like about these cookies is they are not overly sweet.

These are awesome! Just two suggestions-bake on parchment paper and store the cooled cookies in a ziplock freezer bag with 1/2 slice of bread. They will be as wonderful as when tasting them right from the oven!

I didn't like these cookies very much. When I was making the dough I became a little worried because it was very dry and crumbly. I couldn't get them to cook right either. They didn't flatten very well and they burned (definitely didn't look like the picture). I think I'll try another recipe next time.
