I am not much of a cook and I would never consider making my own sauce. But this was so easy and quick and the flavor beats any jar sauce you can buy. I will keep these ingredients on hand at all times and I will never buy jar sauce again

Wow, really disappointing. While the sauce was very edible, I'd have to say that it wasn't even as good as most store bought jars. I made 2 changes, however, I don't believe they would change this from a 3 star to a 5 star recipe. The changes I made were to use 1 Tbsp of dried parsely instead of fresh and to use 5 Tbsp of olive oil instead of 6. I've made a better sauce and will post the recipe at a later date. I personally like more garlic, a little basil and usually add a little brown sugar.

This is an amazing recipe...I added an extra 8 oz can of crushed tomatoes to have a little extra sauce. I also added, about a spoonful of sugar, a tablespoon of butter, crushed red peppers to give it a bit of a kick....This was FANTASTIC!

This sauce is delicious. I did make one change - I substituted 1/2 Cup Beef Stock for the white wine. My 4-year old won't eat anything with wine in it and the beef stock added a rich, meaty flavor to the sauce.

I made a test batch of this and found it too sweet with an off taste. I let it meld overnight and it didn't help. I think it's the sugar in the stewed tomatoes. I won't be making this again

This was my first time to make a real marinara sauce. It's perfect for my spaghetti, Ziti and pizza dishes. I triple the recipe and freeze the rest. Also, I make it the day before and let it set over night in the refrigerator. So easy to make!!! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for this awesome recipe! No more sauce from a jar! There are a couple of things that you can do to take this sauce from great to spectacular. First, double the garlic. My family is very garlic-phobic, but they love this sauce with the extra cloves. Add a tsp. of dried basil as well for extra flavor. Second, add 2 tbsp. of honey AND 1 or two crumbled chicken boullion cubes as the sauce simmers. It balances the flavors perfectly.

Definitely a good everyday marinara. My family has an old Sicilian recipe that we make for special occasions, but this one will do for quick pasta bakes and meatball subs.

This sauce is awesome. I did make the changes suggested by others. But I used it for a pasta dish and it was delish. I am using the rest tonight for my breadsticks.

If there were a ten star rating I would give it that. Some of the best we have ever had. We made it just as is with no additions. We can not go back now to any jar sauce again.

I've got this one simmering right now. I'm making chicken parmesan for my boyfriend and have just taken a couple little tastes of this sauce. Yummmmy! I did have to run back out for a bottle of white wine, but since I only use 1/2 cup - I've got the whole rest of it to enjoy the way it's meant to be enjoyed. This is a very, very simple recipe - which is why I gave it a 5. Good, easy and quick. And it gives me an excuse to get a bottle of wine.

This sauce was fantastic and freezes well! I added a little bit of fresh basil and a touch of brown sugar, but wouldn't change anything else. I tried it with red wine and it was not so good.
