Very good recipe for lemonade. Best thing is to keep things basic. I need about 6 medium sized lemons for this. And it is much better to make the simple syrup instead of just adding the sugar. Although, I keep my syrup balanced, equal parts sugar and water (in other words, I cut the sugar back to one cup; It's really all you need).

Great Recipe. I like the idea of a simple syrup, and usually do it this way but in a pinch, like when my impatient kids want lemonade NOW I just mix it all up in a pitcher and skip the simple syrup step. FYI, In a major pinch I have used bottled lemon juice and it's definitely not as good, but it's worked (use slightly less than called for and adjust to your taste).

This is very yummy - but, oh my!, what a lot of work! LOTS of squeezing. I would not make this again without some type of a juicer. Just takes too much time!

Made this exactly to recipe, and it was the best lemonade I've ever had. I used a full 2lb bag of small lemons to get 1 and 1/2 c juice. I'll be making this all summer!

So simple yet such a great flavor! I used just a tad less lemon as I don't like my lemonade sour but it was veeery tasty!

Great recipe! I used the microwave to dissolve the sugar in cup of water. I like mixing the lemonade with tea for a refreshing drink.

Really refreshing. It will take about 8 lemons to give you the amount of juice called for in the recipe. A perfect summer beverage!

Mmmmm...I made it almost exactly---once I boiled the sugar/water syrup I added a cup or two of ice to the pan. I also use a Pampered Chef juicer--saves so much time! It took me about 6 lemons plus I used 1 lime just to bump the flavor. I also put some fresh mint from my garden into the pitcher. Just delish!

This is definitely worth squeezing every lemon! The recipe calls for the right balance of sweet and tangy lemon flavors.

Simple and delicious! Not too tart not too sweet...i did not cool the sugar mixture in the fridge before mixing and it was great - (i like warm lemonade). everyone else in my house loved it after it cooled too! i can't wait to serve this at a cookout.

This is gooood. A little more complicated than I would like, but worth the effort. You will have to make it ahead because it has to cook and cool.

Delicious. Perfect summer-time beverage. Sweet and tart and great over ice. Worth the effort of juicing the lemons. This inspired me to go buy a citrus juicer.

My husband and I love this lemonade. The pitcher I used couldn't hold all of the liquid so I just used 6 and 1/2 cups of water. It turned out great!! Thanks, Jo, for the recipe. We will use this all summer.

Great recipe. I also lowered the amount of sugar to about a cup and a quarter. Six lemons was more than enough for a gallon. Great for the start of summer!
