Yum! I used 1 cup bakers sugar (still sweet, but not overpowering). The bakers sugar is my new favorite (ultra fine makes baking and blender recipes easy!). Thank you for the wonderful recipe.

I decreased the sugar to about 3/4's, and I had some people tell me it wasn't sweet enough, and some told me it was too sweet. Still trying to find the happy medium, but I do like the aspect of making a simple syrup to add to the lemonade rather than adding sugar.

Was never a big fan of Lemonade until I found this recipe. Now it's a staple in the 'fridge. The first time I made it, it was a bit to sweet for my taste, so the second cut back on the sugar a bit, you can always add more you want it sweeter. Only change I make is once the sugar has dissolved and cooled just a little, I pour it over 2 cups of ice (as Alton Brown always says "a pints a pound the world around")then mix the rest together and float a few lemon slices. Let chill a bit and enjoy.

I absolutely loved this. Thought it was delicious. My husband is not as big a fan, but I think he's not a big lemonade fan. Nothing wrong with the recipe...it was easy and wonderful!

Not labor intensive at all if you get your better half to go pick the lemons and then squeeze them for you ;) Ended up using 2 cups of lemon juice to get it to the tartness I like. Better half still thought it was still too sweet, but he did find it very refreshing. This recipe is a keeper.

I made it using "ReaLemon" b/c I didn't have any lemons on hand and my son desperately wanted lemonade. We all agreed it was great. Not too tart or too sweet (although our tastes to verge on the sweet, so take that with a grain of salt).

What a great combination. I made it as directed first and found it too sweet (matter of taste, not recipe). Next time, cut sugar by 1/3. Terrific!

Love this lemonade. I didn't have quite 1 1/2 cups of lemon juice, but used about 1 1/4 cups lemon juice and the same with the sugar. I put the lemons in the sink and rolled them on the counter-thanks for that. It made it so easy to juice them. :) I microwaved the sugar and water and then put ice in it to do it faster. It mixed together in under 15 minutes and was perfect!

Indeed a great basic lemonade recipe for hot days! I personally used a little less sugar and added a couple of slices of lime and some fresh mint leaves (it looks great too)and the result was fantastic. Highly recommended. Thanks Jo!

Delicious. And my 5 year old daughter enjoyed squeezing the lemons. I also added less water & used ice at the end to cool it down faster.

This was way too sweet for me but hubby loved it. It was good but very very sweet. It tasted like the kind of lemonade that comes off one of those beverage guns at a restaurant. I added another 1/2 cup of lemon juice which helped a little.

I made this for my husband who loves lemonade. I didn't understand how there could be so many positive reviews for a drink ...until I tasted it. I did add extra water to my own glass, but I have to admit this is one refreshing lemonade. Thanks Jo!

I used limes, and less sugar. It was very tangy and wonderful! It did take a while to juice all the limes, but the end result was great!
