This worked great in the slow cooker -- I work so I put it on low for 10 hours instead of high for 3 or 4 and it came out fine. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the noodles, while they were great when they first went into the soup, soaked up a lot more broth after sitting in it for an hour or two and ended up making a big pile of mush. I kind of doubt I will have much success getting hubby to eat the leftovers. However, the soup itself really tasted great. I used homemade beef stock so I had to add quite a bit of salt and I also added a teaspoon or two of sugar just to sweeten the broth a tiny bit.

I rated 3 stars because it has some potential and I would make again with the following recommendations...crushed tomatoes instead of whole and less broth, it was too salty.

YUM..thanks..I used half hot italian sausage and sweet for other half.gave it xtra zip..also used tortellini, but think any pasta would be fine. Very hearty and filling with crusty bread. I worried the wine would over power this..but it DID NOT and didn't even taste like wine..and I used a Cab Sauv! A keeper for certain

I thought this was a great little soup. Very easy to make, very tasty, and the substitution of tortellini for the fettuccine made this soup hearty enough for a meal. My husband didn't like it, but then it contained three of his least favorite foods - onion, tomato, and zucchini. That just means more for me. :D My only other changes were the use of fresh herbs, turkey sausage instead of pork, and a can of crushed tomatoes instead of whole (I figure if I make the tomato pieces really small, my husband won't notice). Otherwise I followed the recipes exactly, and loved the results.

Yummy.... The only changes I made were that I added a box of fresh mushrooms & used half sweet & half hot sausage (doubling the amount called for). I used mini cheese ravioli - cooked them separately (like the recipe SAID) and added them just before serving. I took this to a neighborhood "soup party" and it was a hit!

Awesome recipe! Will definately make it again. Pretty much followed the recipe exact, except rather than fettucine I used tri-colored rotini and instead of boiling it first I just added it directly to the crock pot with one hour to go in the cooking. Enjoyed it with a demi loaf of asiago sourdough!

Will definitely make again. The slow cooker I used was too small for all the broth, so I eliminated the pasta. It was still wonderful!

This was an absolutely amazing soup recipe. I have shared it with many already. I used Wacky Mac shaped pastas instead of the fettucine-that's the only change. It was wonderful the next day as well. Thanks so much!

This was incredible! I omitted the wine and added extra broth, omitted the noodles and added celery and potatoes about 40 minutes before serving. I just dumped all the ingredients, minus the potatoes, into a crock pot and walked away! Delicious and even better the next day...a definite keeper.

i've made this twice now- it is good! i keep the pasta on the side (cheese tortellini is great!), as suggested by other reviews. i coarse-cut the tomatoes and also add an extra cup or so of broth to make it less ragout like. i've made italian sausage soup using other recipes, but this is by far the best, at least in my opinion!

This was very good and different, will likely make again. I used stewed tomatoes because that is what I had plus they are larger so the kids could pick them out.

I added 1/2 Cup Onions, 1/2 tsp Basil, 1/2 tsp italian seasoning, 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, 1 beef bouillon 1/2 Cup of water. At the last 20 mins of cooking I added 1/2 Cup Orzo. This really spiced it up and gave it more hardiness. Not too much was left to this meal of a soup. I served it with Corn Bread. Great meal on a cold day.

This was good when I was looking for something different. I used cheese-filled tortellini instead of fettuccini. The only thing was that it took time to cut up everything and throw it in.
