Very Tasty way to prepare green tomatoes! Hubby loved it, but don't let them get cold.

This was really delicious! I used fresh tomatoes from my garden. I used tomatoes that had a slight tint of red to it so that it will have a bit of a sweeter taste. Also, I did not cut the tomatoes into .5" thick; that is a bit too much. I also deep fried the tomatoes. They came out delicious!!!!!!!!!!

Although I didn't follow this recipe to a T, I'm giving it 5 stars because my first batch of fried green tomatoes ever turned out so yummy! My husband cut the tomatoes about 1/4" thick; they got perfectly crispy. I also skipped the breadcrumbs and cornmeal and instead used panko breadcrumbs (which stuck to the tomatoes very well). Otherwise, didn't change a thing ... flour, egg/milk dip, panko seasoned w/S&P. I never knew they'd be so delicious and almost a bit lemony! We're making for our first dinner party as a married couple; it'll be a fun surprise for our guests!

I fixed these last night and they were pretty good. The only problem is that my husband and I thought that they were super salty. I used Italian bread crumbs instead of regular, so maybe that had something to do with it. I will definitely try these again, but I'll probably only use half the salt.

YUMMY! :) I used some green tomatoes from my garden and sliced them really thin. I also "double dipped" into the egg/milk. Basically I repeated the dipping process. Instead of regular bread crumbs, I used Italian style. I also fried some squash from my garden using this same recipe. I used olive oil. It was very good. I will DEFINITELY make this again. Even my hubby loved it, and he's not usually a huge fan of "good ol' southern cookin'".

Sounds delicious but I make mine different. I mix flour, cornmeal, eggs, milk, salt & pepper together & make a batter. I slice the tomatoes the same thickness & salt them 1st & let set 20 min. It takes some of the bitterness out of them & draws out the liquid. Pour off any liquid & dip in batter & fry in hot oil or bacon grease. They are very good!

These were phenominal!!!! I followed the recipe for the most part, I omitted cornmeal(I didn't have any)and replaced it with italian bread crumbs. I also added a pinch of cumin and a dash of garlic salt to the breaded coating. I will be making these again, my family enjoyed them and were upset that I hadn't made more! :)

Very good! I have been trying to find a recipe that I like for fried green tomatoes for years! Good dipping with ranch dressing or a dijonnaise with horseradish too.

Oh......yummy! I followed the directions to a tee and found I had quite a bit of flour left over. Would use less next time. But the tomatoes came out beautiful. Not soggy and lovely and crisp. Just like my mom made when I was a kid. I will be making these again. Thank you very much.

This is by far the best fried green tomatoe recipe I have tried. I didn't have bread crumbs so I just used some captians crackers I had in the pantry and they worked great. I also added some garlic and it was supurb!

I grew up watching Fried Green Tomatoes with mom and have ALWAYS wanted to eat them. A few years ago I tried to make some and they were AWFUL...so I tried this recipe with some trepidation, but they turned out DELICIOUS! Even my friend that doesn't really like tomatoes enjoyed them. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

This is my first time making or eating fried green tomatoes. They were good. Reminded me of deep fried pickles. Easy to make too.

These were great! Just made these tonight. Doubled the cornmeal mix & added about 1/8 tsp of cayenne pepper. Will add more cayenne next time. Used zip-lock baggies & threw them away for quick cleaning when done. Will make again!

This was my first time eating fried green tomatoes so maybe its not this recipe, but there were just okay. I think you could fry anything in bacon grease and it'd be good.
