This is my spin on a popular creamy cheese fondue. Have fun with it and incorporate the cheeses and veggies you like. Serve with veggies and bread sticks.

Shrimp Fondue

A rich, creamy fondue, of sour cream, cream cheese, and cream of shrimp soup. Great for dunking chunks of fresh French bread-- or topping a bbq'd steak...a family favorite for sure!

Pilsen-port Swiss Fondue

I don't know if this was done in the 70's, but I happened to throw these together for a fondue night with some really rustic sourdough and it was awesome. Port wine and beer blend with Swiss cheese in this no nonsense fondue. If round sourdough is hard to find, use a baguette sliced into rounds.

Fondue is a fun and informal way to gather friends and family together. Consider offering some fresh vegetables such as sliced peppers and halved mushrooms in addition to the chunks of French bread.

Cheese and Tomato Fondue

Gruyere and domestic Swiss cheeses melt readily, blending with tomatoes in this tasty fondue. Serve with sliced baguettes.

I call this a coffee table dinner -- arrange everything on your living room table and pick and choose at your leisure. Not a meal to rush through! Rent a favorite old movie, anything from the 70's works great...think Flash Gordon or a Shaft movie. Get a bottle of wine, and have a fun and lounging 70s-style-updated-for-the-00's fondue night.

Blue cheese crumbles kindly lend their distinctive flavor to this simple, smooth mixture. Serve with corn chips. This dip tastes better the longer it chills before serving.
