Excellent Recipe. I made it for a Fourth of July Party and everyone asked for the recipe. Thank you for sharing!

Wonderful recipe!!! This was a great "manly" meal for my hubby and father in law!!! B/c I used hot sausage, I reduced the hot sauce by half and it was still spicy. Also, from another review, I cut the sausage into pieces before cooking to cut down on the cooking time. I served it over white rice. it was a big hit!!! Thanks!!!

This is truly the best sausage and peppers recipe ever. The beer is key. I use half sweet and half hot Italian sausage. It makes excellent sandwiches too.

This is excellent! Not only does it taste great, but it's a very flexible recipe -- in fact, I've never made it with beer! I always use a 12oz package of Italian sausage (5 links), one yellow onion, and one or two bell peppers (whatever color I have on hand). It's great by itself or served as a kind of sauce over spaghetti squash or whatever carbilicious filler you choose.

This recipe was just delicious! I scaled it down to 4 servings and still had left overs for the next night. So flavorful I threw it on a steak roll and enjoyed the heck out of it. Very easy to make as well.

This was SO tasty but I really didn't like the brand of sausage I used. Husband didn't mind at all, but I ended up picking mine out, and just eating the veggies and sauce. I loved the flavor of the beer in the sauce - subtle but different. I'll make this again but with different sausage or maybe kielbasa. The only thing I did differently was to slice up the sausages before I browned them in the olive oil. Great recipe, Robert. Thanks!

I've been eyeing this recipes for ages but when the time came to make it I always reverted to cooking the family receipe. Yesterday I caved in and I am so glad I did. We loved it!!!! No changes made - I ended up using both hot and sweet sausage. We will be making this again and again. It's easy to make too. Thanks submitter.

This was awesome! Scaled it down to 4 svgs. I used extra tomatoe paste because I wanted it to be a thicker sauce. I also used dried herbs instead of fresh. You need a large dutch oven or stock pot to cook in. We served it over bow tie pasta . Very good!

I was asked to make this for a get together by a friend who'd had it in the past. As it turns out the "beloved Italian mother" of the group also brought sausage and peppers! I was terrified! I hope she didn't noticed that mine was gone before hers was :}

I have never taken the time to review one of these recipes, but I just had to this time! This is the best recipe for sausage and peppers that I have ever tasted. I followed the recipe exactly, and it was perfect! It makes quite a bit, but I know its going to get eaten fast. Thanks for this great recipe!

Made this with hot sausage and added tabasco as well - turned out very hot. Used Coors Lite and dried "italian seasoning", didn't have any fresh herbs. Still very good, though. Next time I'll try sweet and hot sausage over bow tie pasta. I served w/rice but it absorbed most of the sauce. Great recipe - thanks!

I've been using this recipe for a couple of years now, and still love it. I use half or less of each ingredient, except the tomato paste, and it still makes enough for more than 2 meals for my husband and I. I like to eat it on a sub roll the first day, and with pasta the next.

My hubby LOVED this recipe and would have given it 5 stars. I wasn't that impressed. The sauce needs a little playing with. Maybe some more spices a little extra hot sauce? I will play with it a little. Thanks Robert!!
