Everybody writing reviews just adored this soup and I didn't care for it...So I am definitely going to have to try it again because I must have done something wrong. I love broccoli soup and this recipe is so quick and easy.

absolutely great recipe. I added some cheddar cheese and it was as good as the soup at Panera's. yum yum. Made it again and substituted cauliflower for the broccoli and added some carrots then used my immersion blender Great on these awful wintery days we are having.

This soup took no time to make and came out delicious. I did not have celery on hand and did add a little bit more of flour and water to thicken it up, just a personal desire. I will next time double everything because with the four of us there was very little left.

this was very good, it needs salt for my taste. I added about a cup of medium chedder cheese to the finished soup and it was delish!

Yummy!! Though i added a wee bit too much broccoli and the soup turned out quite thick. Next time, i will use less broccoli.

Great recipe! I mashed the broccoli with a potatoe masher and added 1 cup Cheese Whiz. Makes it very cheesy!!!!

This recipe took a lot of doctoring on my part before I was satisfied with it. I followed the recipe but when I was finished I didn't think it had enough taste. After I added an extra bullion cube, pepper and some crumbled bacon I felt it was pretty good.

I added a carrot & 1/4 head of califlower, plus a little cheese (about 1/2 cup total cheddar & cream cheese). I also pureed about 1/3 of the soup & mashed the rest. It was wonderful!!!

Nice recipe, very tasty and the husband loved it. I altered it a little: I did not see the need to puree the soup, I just let it simmer for 10 or 15 mins. I also mixed 1 cup heavy cream with one cup skim milk and added that, instead of creating a rue with flour. I also tossed in a couple of tablespoons of shaker Parmesan cheese.

This was a good basic soup recipe, and it was great for a cold night like last night!! I didn't add celery, b/c my hubby isn't a fan, and I used a potato masher to mash the broccoli instead of pureeing it. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly.

I loved this soup! I gave it all a rough puree in the food processor and then melted about 4 oz of Velveeta into it. Delish!

I was responsible for the soup at a family gathering. I had never made cream of broccoli soup before but, I love it. I tried this recipes and everyone raved over it, including my two sons. I'll be making this from now on instead of buying it or asking someone else to make it for me.

My family (even my 4 y/o twin girls) liked this. I substituted 1/2 cup of hale & half and added about 1/4 c. of grated parm cheese. My husband reccommended leaving some florets not pureed. I agree. Nice for the cold weather!!

I found the recipe a bit bland. Added lots of salt and would have liked more depth -- perhaps potatoes, cheese or butter. If I made again I'd probably saute the garlic, then the celery, then the onions for a carmelized flavor. Then I'd add salt and the chicken stock. I'd probably put some half and half with the butter and milk. And then I'd do as some said, puree half and leave some large florets. Grated parmesan on top.

This soup is exactly what I was looking for in a cream of broccoli soup!! I wanted a good base soup to make cheddar broccoli soup, and this turned out fantastic for that. I made the soup exactly as the recipe stated except for the following modifications: I used my food mill and "creamed" half of the recipe, leaving the other half chunky. After the milk thickened, I added about a cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese and stirred this until melted, then added to the soup. This is a keeper!

Lovely soup. I didn't have any celery to saute so used celery salt and lemon pepper for seasoning. Delicious...the "Best"!

Thanks for the great recipe! I used butter instead of margerine and instead of blending I used a potato masher. After mashing I added some chopped carrots (I really recommend this) and the soup was a little thinner than I hoped (probably because I used skim milk) so I added a couple tablespoons of cornstarch, which I mixed with cold water before adding). The roux really makes it for this one. I will definately make it again!

this was amazing! I added 2 cloves of garlic to the onions, used half and half, only because I needed to use some up, 1/2 brick cream cheese, and nutmeg. My whole family lOVED it!

I would like it to be creamier. I used evaporated milk and it still seemed kind of watery to me.

Very tasty and very flexible. I used a chicken bouillon cube and water in place of chicken broth and I added potatoes and carrots with the broccoli.
