dry whipped topping mix (such as Dream Whip®)

If you have a hard time finding Dream Whip, you can cut out the milk and use one small container Cool Whip instead and still get the same end result. I like to make this lighter by using light Cool Whip, reduced fat cream cheese and light cherry pie filling.

Not a great cheesecake. Let sit over night for 10 hours instead of 2 and it still didn't change in density. If you like cheesecake custard this recipe is perfect. The density does not change because of the shipped cream. I thought using whipped cream was a little strange when I saw this recipe but I figured that would make it cheaper to make. Yes it is cheaper to make but that's because it doesn't make cheesecake.
