I thought these were just ok. More colantro may help but these beans just tasted like beans from a can to me.

Absolutely delicious! Definitely a keeper, my husband raved over this recipe. I added some cumin and fresh tomatoes then used the leftovers for black bean burritos! Will make this again and again.

Very good recipe, although i didnt like the cilantro so next time i would make it without. I also added some diced tomatoes and it was great. Great way to get some protein and fiber into your diet! Thanks..

These were pretty good. The cilantro was a little over powering for my taste, but otherwise very good.

This really perked up my plain black beans. I added the onion, garlic, along with the cayene pepper, and I added a smidge of corriander. I let it simmer for about 20 minutes, then I added the cilantro. My dh and ds both were happy with it, especially my dh. It was a great way to brighten up a somewhat bland, but healthy dish!! Thanks for sharing it.

I had one lone can of black beans sitting around forever after countless disappointing bean recipes. FINALLY I found a keeper that received raves all around. I, too, brought the cayenne to boil with the beans, onion and garlic and allowed them to simmer 20 minutes before adding the cilantro. Bullseye. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

I added about 1/3 cup jicama for some added crunch. It was so good.

I was looking for something resembling a great black bean side dish I'd had at my favorite local Mexican restaurant, and this is it! Perfect blend of flavors. Thank you, thank you!

Surprisingly good! I didn't think such a few simple ingredients would taste so good. Sometimes black beans have a taste that is strong, but sauteeing them with these other ingredients really mellowed them well. And doubling the cayenne gave them a big kick! I also added some lime juice as some others suggested. Will definitely make again.

I made this dish for the husband as part of my first attempt at a Cuban dinner. He didn’t really care for the cilantro, but I thought it was delicious! Thanks for the great recipe!

These are the only black beans I've ever had, so I don't know if they're the best--but, I won't be trying any others because these were very good! I'm going to try making burritos with them like other people here have suggested! I added more cayenne because they weren't spicy enough for me. Next time I might also let them simmer longer.

These were terrific! I upped the fresh cilantro slightly from 1 T to 2 T and as did many others, added the juice of 1/2 a fresh lime. Simmered 15 minutes and served to rave reviews!
