This was sooooo delicious!!! I was wary as I had only had black beans in chile, but now is a fave! I rinsed the beans and added 1.5 cups of chicken stock, and 1 tbls of chicken bullion. Also didn't have any cilantro so used a teaspoon of parsley instead. So good!

I really liked these, but my fiance wasn't too impressed by them. I think next time I would cook them in either beef or chicken broth to add a little more flavor. I also might add some chopped bell peppers. Thanks :)

This is a simple, easy recipe with unlimited room for experimentation. But being a southwestern boy looking at the pictures begs the question: Where *ARE* the black beans?

These were amazing...we loved the flavor that comes from the chicken stock, but you definitely have to have the 'cilantro gene'

Yummy! I love the spice! I used 3 cans of black beans (12 servings) and only 2 onions, but everything else I did the same. I received many compliments on this one!

Great simple recipe will make again. I followed another reviews advice and drained the liquid from the can of beans and added broth to the mix. Will make again.

These are wonderful and very easy. Even my 4 year old picky eater likes them. I do cook them longer than it suggests and add a bit of water if needed. Great inside burritos or alone!

Double yum if you add bacon. Keep t simple and use the pre-cooked kind. There may be some left over tacos, but their won't be any leftover beans!

This recipe is great as is! No changes are necessary :o) Just for the heck of it, I added a splash of lime juice as one reviewer mentioned and I liked the tang, but I think it would be just as good without it! Thanks for a simple and delicious recipe

Surprisingly good. I didn't have a small onion on hand so I used 3 chopped green onions and it seemed to work well. I didn't drain or rinse the beans, either, so I'll see you in bed tonight, my friend.

This was a great recipe, but I was nervous right up until I tasted it! I used only half a small onion since I'm not a big fan. I also simmered everything for about 45 minutes in 1 1/2 cups of chicken broth. I added some cayenne pepper right at the end and topped each serving with a bit of shredded monteray jack cheese. My husband liked them but asked me to roll back the heat a little.

I doubled this and now wish I quadrupled it! I sauted onion, garlic and cumin in evoo, added rinsed beans (can't bring myself to cook them in the canned liquid), added 1.5 chix broth, cumin, cilantro, smoked paprika, TS si si cilantro seasoning and sea salt. Slow boil (covered) for an hour then took the cover off and let the liquid reduce to none so the moisture was packed into the beans! This was suppose to be the shredded beef side dish, too bad they're gone! excellent recipe!!

These beans are tasty. If you like black beans, this side dish is quick and easy. The only negative, for me, is that the flavors were not complex enough, but that's just me. Good beans. Try them.

My onion must have been rather large as it seemed like way too much for one can of beans. I also added a little beer and simmered longer to reduce a bit. Yum!
