To be fair, this wasn't horrid, but it was not worth making again. Just tastes like salty, soy-saucy pot roast. I did cook overnight and refrigerate the following day as suggested, and also used low sodium broth and soy sauce. But it just tasted too soy-ish. I much prefer the recipes on this site for italian beef.

This came out waaaay too salty for my husband and I. I dont think that I would use soy sauce in the slow cooker again.

This is great! I cook mine 10-12 hrs. and it's perfect every time. My husband just loves beef dip sandwiches and was thrilled with this recipe! It's now a regular meal in our house! Thanks for a new favorite!

This is a great recipe!!! The only thing I changed was instead of 6 cups of water, I used 4 cups of beef broth. It cooked on low for about 9 hours. I shredded it and then let it cook on low for about another hour. Half of us ate it over rice, the other half ate it in a sandwich.

Good, tender, and juicy. I would decrease the amount of soysauce next time. And, less rosemary, maybe add another spice into the mix.

Pretty good, I took the advice of others, and slow cooked the roast through the night, refridgerated it through the day and ate it for dinner. Very easy! Great flavor. I would have to say that because the roast is shredded it is kind of difficult to keep it in the bread, but good none the less. It does make more than enough dipping juice, but it needs all the moisture to keep the roast moist.

Yes this was fantastic! Be sure to cook it for 8-10 hours, the longer it cooks, the better it gets. We put the leftovers on rice instead of on bread and it was just as good, if not better!

Great recipe. I strained the sauce before serving as au jus. Also, I shredded the meat and let it sit in some of the broth so that it was nice and juicy and not dry. My family loved it too!

Absolutely wonderful! We had a lot of au jus left, so I put it in the freezer to use as a soup base later. I added the Lipton onion soup mix per other reviews, and it was fantastic.

This recipe is so simple and wonderful. It makes amazing beef dip sandwiches. We made a really large roast, so I used the rest to make a nice beef veggie soup, and the au jus was a great base for it. I've also used the meat to make pot pie...very simple and yummy.

Great beef dip. I did as some of the others suggested and added a package of onion soup mix and half the amount of Soya Sauce. I also added 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce just because I love the taste it gives soups and stews etc. This is definitely the best beef dip recipe I have found.

I cut the water in half and, to cut down on saltiness but still give flavour used Marmite instead of commercial beef stock for flavour (Marmite is a spread like Vegemite, hugely popular in Australia and New Zealand...its very in good this, my partner is Kiwi he suggested it :) ) This is going to be our Easter dinner :)

Excellent, esp the next day. This made a LOT of au jus..so I will probably half the liquid mixture. I also used low sodium soy which turned out great to us!

My husband devoured this, I thought it was a little salty. I used low sodium soy sauce, 1 can beef broth and 2 cups water. Put the rosemary in a coffee filter and stapled it shut (great idea by the way). I also used a sirloin roast to cut down on the fat content. Trimmed off the big hunk of fat and the meat was still very tender and delicious! Will definately make again.
