Love beer butt chicken! This is a good recipe - very wet. The chicken will literally fall apart!

This chicken is fabulous and the recipe is great as is. One tip, however, is to make the seasoning mixture in two batches. One half to pour into the beer can and the other half to reserve and use as baste. This allows the seasonings that sink to the bottom of the mixture to flavor both inside and out! Yummy!

Finally did it! I cooked my chickens in the oven at 350 for 2 hours. They came out great, nice & tender. Kind of a messy dish to prepare, but good.

Best chicken ever!!! I made these just like the recipe stated, except I added 10 minced cloves of garlic to the beer/butter mixture and baked them in the oven at 350 for 2 hours - the tip about spraying the cans first by the previous reviewer is key! Also make sure you let them rest for 10 or 15 minutes after cooking to retain all of the fantastic juices! YUM!

Amazing chicken!! First, I didn't have any beer racks to hold the chickens upright and I didn't use the grill. I used two chickens. Added melted butter (to warm beer) plus paprika and garlic in the beer. I did not measure, but just went by eye. I then used salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika on the chicken and poured more melted butter over the chicken. I put the chickens over the cans (on a foiled, baking dish). Remember to use cooking spray on the beer cans for an easy removal. The chickens leaned against each other and never fell. I basted with melted butter one more time during baking. My chickens took 2 hours at 350 degrees. I used the drippings for gravy. Great chicken recipe. The chicken fell off the bone and the cans came out very easily. We will certainly make this again, and we'll try them on the grill but out of the oven, they were wonderful!

I used this recipe with a beer can roaster that we got for X-mas. This turned out very moist, and flavorful! Thanx for the recipe!

We make this in our smoker,, mesquite wood,, I can't imagine it getting any better than this,,, then my husband started putting wedges of apple and onion inside before we put it on the beer can... OMG!!!!! Use a meat thermometer since the smoking will cause the meat to be pink.. AWESOME!

Probably the best beer butt chicken I've ever had. Moist and juicy and soooo good! I made two of them for a party and EVERYONE RAVED about them!! I cooked them for about an hour and forty five to fifty minutes. I basted every thirty and I rubbed it with a stick of butter before putting on the seasonings. I put a little chicken broth and some beer that wasn't being used at the bottom. It helps make a really good gravy too. :) I love this recipe. :D

This is great way to make chicken. You really don't even need the butter. Just season the chicken (lots), put some chopped garlic in the beer. Bake @ 350 for 1.45. I haven't even tried it on the grill yet. But I will.

This is good. It takes quite a while for the chicken to cook completely. Make sure you chicken is done. I made it once and it wasn't completly cooked and it kind of went down hill from there,

The chicken is now a staple in my kitchen! I made the mistake of making only one chicken and it was easily devoured by my four little girls. They could not get enough of this and keep asking for me to make it every night!
