With 2.5 teaspoons of salt plus the salt in the can of tomatoes that is all you taste. I used no salt at all with .25 teaspoon of celery seed and two cloves of finely chopped fresh garlic for the garlic flavor instead of garlic powder which has very little garlic taste. I never use cheddar cheese because I can't stand the taste or smell so I substitute other milder tasting cheeses for it all my recipes.

This was very good and a nice change from a potato or noodle dish. I used 1 can of petite diced tomatoes and 1 can of diced tomatoes in sauce. I did not have celery or garlic salt. I used garlic powder and table salt.

Very yummy meal! I added black beans to mine and we served with tortillas to scoop everything up. I used one 14 oz can of stewed tomatoes and one 14 oz can of diced tomatoes because that's what I had on hand. Worked great. A hit with everyone!

Very Good recipe - Added chili powder & chili seasoning to give it a little extra zip. I love how the sweetness of the hiney works with the zip of the chili powder

Very Good. Didn't add the honey. The only tomatoes I had were canned tomatoes/okra/corn which really added to it.Also added some Chili Pepper and salsato make it more "Spanish". Has a lot of possibilities

I used ground turkey instead of ground beef and I didn't have the celery or garlic salt so I substituted with garlic powder.I did add green bell peppers to the recipe as well. It turned out great and I will definitly make again.

This recipe was good but I did change it a bit. I added one large green bell pepper and one small red bell pepper. Also, I added about .5 lb of spicy ground sausage. I also changed the rice amount to 3 cups because I didn't think there was enough rice for my family of 5 with only 1 cup.

Made this using Minute Rice and it came together in no time at all. I did omit the honey, added a chopped green bell pepper and used real garlic as opposed to garlic salt. Also threw in some chili powder and cumin. Went well with the enchiladas I served, thanks!

Excellent. I doubled the cheese and added green pepper. I will definitely make this often.

This is a nice easy meal and I liked it. I did change a couple of things. I didn't have honey, so I used brown sugar. Also, I used fresh garlic rather than garlic salt. It tasted quite nice but, I think if I make it again I'll add a chopped green pepper for a little extra flavor. Thanks for the recipe!

I found this easy to make and my wife and I found it quite tasty. The second time that I made this dish I used about a pound of italian sausage patties which I just threw in with the beef while browning so it would all crumble up nice. I found it made the meal heartier, more filling and tastier. I also used the instant brown rice and was a little more generous with the onions, honey, and added extra garlic powder because I'm not fond of too much salt. For the finishing touch, I generously sprinkled more cheese on the rice after scooping onto the plate. It's a nice touch for the cheese fans.

Delicious! We enjoyed a good meal of the Beefy Spainish Rice accompanied by Corn & Black Bean Salad II. I followed the rice recipe as written, except used garlic powder and a shredded cheese combo of mozzarella and provolone as it was all I had available. My family requested I make it again.

We really liked this. I followed the recipe exactly except for the type of cheese - I only had mozzarella on hand, so I used that. The kids loved it! Thanks!

I had high hopes for this because I love using brown rice but this dish was just ok. A little time consuming if you use regular brown rice bc it takes so long to cook. I may just make my regular Spanish rice bake and sub the white rice for brown going forward. I served this dish with Bean Quesadillas.

This was a good recipe! My family really enjoyed it. I used instant white rice to make it quicker. I think next time I will try adding some black beans and/or corn for a more Spanish feel. An all around good dish!

I tried the other beefy spanish rice and was disappointed but not with this one. I did add some sausage when I browned the beef but I stuck to the rest of the recipe and it was excellent. I have a cousin who abhors any type of tomatoe and could not help but take a small taste because everyone else was raving about it. Lets just say he asks me to make this everytime we are near a stove. No leftovers!

Really good and hearty. Will be making it on a regular basis. I did have to modify a bit, I didn't have honey so I cooked my rice with 1/5th apple juice and added a tablespoon of brown sugar to the sauce. I also left out the onion in the beginning and used green onion before baking. It was really good. loved how the texture was after coming from the oven and the way the tomaotes sweetened up almost caramelized specially arround the edges.Definately going to be a regular.
